Actually, something I've been wondering for a while is why hog hasn't been replaced with battle ram in 2.6. They're both 4 elixir, about equal in terms of offensive power, maybe battle ram is easier to defend, but the whole point of 2.6 is that the opponent can't defend every time. Battle ram is also more versatile defensively, with 2 barbarians that can help defend, or just the battle ram itself can kite units, much like how ice golem is used, whereas you can't do that as well with hog because it jumps over the river. Battle ram is also good as a lightning rod to defend cannon.

As the one who is firmly acquainted with og pekka ram, i believe it's more for an offensive value in hog 2.6, as hog takes a building, tornado or swarm card to defend without hits and he prompts to react faster than battle ram. The ram option is easier to defend as you said thus it may not work as good as hog in the aspect of distracting an enemy from building an indefensible push by spending 4 elixir on the opposite lane. The fast cycle allows getting that one hit with hog more frequently against opponents with no proper counter to him. Battle ram is so damn bulky in offensive and it gets demolished by cheap control cards or buildings which meta is always infested with. That is why i believe that in comparison one card is popular, and another is used only in bridge spams or 3 musketeers decks. Sad to contemplate such state of affairs though
