I love Oye!!! It was my favorite song by Jim Papoulis until he came to CME last summer and we sang those songs he hasn't published, La VIda, Sililiza and Kusimama, and now those are my faves. But this is still awesome. Yay YPC!!

The story of this song is when the composer was working in Mexico, the children were reached very easily through rhythm and music. The children were asked what they would want to share with the world, and one girl said they wished adults paid more attention to the young people. They would call out "Oye" to adults, and the song was brought to life. The children were asked what the song should sound like, and they said it should feel upbeat and celebratory. In the spirit of asking the world to listen up and take notice.
