Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz™. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot-fame and fortune are his for the taking-that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. The movie didnt work for me, but ALL the scenes with the China Girl character hit the mark! Wonderful animation! Even the acting from James Franco was at a much higher level when the doll was part of the scene - it shows how well this character works when even the actor has an emotional response to it, even tho it is not a real human being. The movie is worth it only for this character. The scenes with her all stood out. Just beautiful. The animator deserves praise for his work to bring the doll to life.

It was...amazing, the opening scene. I didn't know what to expect when the scene came up in the movie. I just knew I will see something horrible when Franco moves the table, and then...BOOM! heartache. Uff...I really felt my face melting from sadness, like from smiling into sad face O_o unbelievably realistic and so goddsamn cute, I almost couldn't stand it, but I did. Like a real man. No tears 😢 Alright, but don't tell anyone. It took me really some effort to hold myself back... 👍 And the ape was really good as well by the way, the first animated ape I really liked. Most of them look really weird. Although I haven't seen planet of the apes, the remakes I mean, so I don't know. But from trailers these apes look really monstrous. This one looks really cool to me. I think it was my first Oz movie ever, I think it's time to watch the old ones now as well. Not now, but later... Unbelievable how good disney was in producing movies when ideology didn't matter the least. And at times when disney made movies for families, and not for as many groups of viewers as possible. Just got one group. The one who cared about the specific movie. Now though...every movie has to be likable even for people who won't watch the movie, but it has to be ideological. Same stupidity goes for the james bond franchises... It's a bloody shame!
