An interesting animatic to an unfortunately scrapped show. But still a delight to see. Also an interesting dynamic was revealed with the turtle Cliff the Cabby. Hopefully Oswald gets more screentime one day as well as well as the return of Ortensia and his friends Toby Bear and Cliff the Cabby. A rabbit, a bear and a turtle would make a nice brand new trio.

@@yosefdemby8792 There was someone asking him questions and his response to the whole Cliff character is that he was going to be a recurrent character, is a cab driving turtle who loves his suped up car and driving really fast, but he has a low self image and Oswald unlocks his inner confidence. The dynamic between Oswald and Cliff was based on the tortoise and hare.

For what it's worth, the video's poster is a storyboard artist who has worked on Phineas and Ferb, SpongeBob, Looney Tunes Show and more, but most noteworthy, Legends of the Thee Caballeros. The Caballeros team is the one that developed the ultimately scrapped Oswald series.Which is even more disappointing now, having seen how great it could have been!

I’d still like to know more about this animation despite it being years ago that it was animated. I did go into the history of this short and apparently it was an unreleased episode of a Disney plus Oswald show which really manages to confuse me…. Based on my information the Disney Plus service wasn’t publicly released until years after this short was supposedly produced in 2014. A popular theory as to why this was produced for the program is that it was supposed to be something to advertise people towards Disney plus and was likely scrapped due to licensing issues. As someone who really enjoys this style of animation I’d like to know more about the project’s development from the people who worked on it but I doubt they’d care enough to respond to any questions…

Oswald looks way modernized. My boy grew a neck! And seemingly looks tall and thin. Also side note: I think Oswald’s tail is white? Instead of black. And it looks like he has a new friend who seems to be a turtle. I’m guessing they made his friend a turtle because turtles are more down to earth (slow n steady) which helps keep Oswald in check and the audience. Meanwhile Oswald is just outgoing and doesn’t think before acting. You usually see this type of trope paired together in animated media. Also our only modern interpretation of Oswald in animated media seemed to depict him as a wise and semi grumpy-tempered hearted toon, but here he is a very cheeky, mischief, energetic rabbit. It’s like he’s in his prime. We see him smiling 24/7 (like the dubious little man he is) and seems to be giving the magician/conman fox? a hard time. I’m guessing the magician stopped and saw this as an opportunity to get rich because of audience’s applaud & money throwing… he wanted Oswald’s legs because a rabbit’s foot brings good luck, and so far we’ve seen Oswald’s good luck rub off everywhere… he won all the rigged carnival games and even the turtle’s rigged game just by interrupting.
