Leaving an awesome GCI to rot is practically a crime.

Random trivia, prior to demolition the 2 trains were sent to Dollywood. One was used for parts while the second became Thunderhead's 'third' train. While Thunderhead can't run 3 trains at once, it gave them a spare when they pull the trains off for heavy maintenance each year. When it first arrived, it still had the labelscars on the lead car.

Seriously! It was so beautiful, especially at night it was really a great experience. Gave that kind of adventurous and nostalgic feeling that is hard to find just anywhere. haha

Railroad Skater Why would they refuse to work with them though?
@coasternamegenerator56114 жыл бұрын
Railroad Skater okay 1) Roar at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom also closed down and 2) No it doesn’t stain their portfolio. Do you see GCI suffering from this one coaster. Also, here’s an example for why GCO wouldn’t. When Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom went bankrupt, B&M had one of their most impressive coasters to date there, yet they still worked together up until 2012.

Railroad Skater oh yeah, Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa is defunct too.

Thank you for posting this. The Ozark Wildcat was almost my 1st wood coaster, but the ride closed before we could ride it. (Someone lost their hat or wallet on the ride, & the park management decided to help them out.)
@Vaughanabe1311 жыл бұрын
I was just at SDC and management told us personally that Celebration City was a failed experiement and unfortunately the Ozark Wildcat will be torn down (no date given). They said they already sold the trains, the gates and the control panels, and the ride hasn't been maintained so the bolts and track are now completed rusted. Only thing left is to tear it down. They didn't tell us what their plans were for the remains of Celebration City.

Thanks for putting this video up. I never got a chance to ride it when it was open. Awesome video!
@alexf0207199911 жыл бұрын
Actually this is/was a very good wooden coaster - smooth and quick with some airtime. Sure, it's nowhere near as good as Outlaw Run but it'd still make a great addition to SDC as a fun family wooden coaster.

i always wanted to ride this as a kid. thank you for giving me that experience

I miss Celebration City so much! I loved the Wildcat. I'm not a fan of SDC so Celebration City lives on in my memories. It closed the day before my son's 1st birthday. I did get to go the last year it was open in 2008 but wish they'd bring it back or something similar.

The last time I went there was when I was in like Kindergarten and I wanted to ride this ride...But I was too short >.< I didn't meet height requirements ;-; The closest thing I have now to this is Outlaw Run, oh well...

Everytime I am in Branson I see this standing alone. Sure wish Silver Dollar City would buy it. Looks like a great coaster and they could get it for pennies on the dollar!!

Sadly this is the only way you can experience this ride now. It now sits rotting away in its abandoned site in Branson, MO. Tragic

Thanks. Outlaw Run looks sweet. But the Ozark Wildcat was a great ride. Smooth. Such a shame it had to sit out there, empty, and rot. Damn...
@kyledudekr11 жыл бұрын
Yea they should of moved it to SDC then built Outlaw Run. That would of been sweet!
@Beergut22212 жыл бұрын
Why can't this be moved to Silver Dollar City? They need a good woody, being such a beautiful park!!!!

Terminator and the Ozark Wildcat are very a lot a like in many ways.

This was quite the landmark when we were driving in through Branson. I would have ridden on this one had I gone to Celebration City at least once during its five years of business before it folded. And while they axed it seven years later after the park closed for good, some of the old rides and attractions are still present today but in the process of rotting away.

@JohnnyRandom8913 жыл бұрын
gci does some really good intense twister woodies. we have one here in albuquerque called the new mexico rattler. its short, its small in stature. but its intense and quick in thrills level.
@brennanlynch1234567810 жыл бұрын
I talked to SDC on the phone tidy and asked them what they planned on doing to the celebration city site..and they said that most of the rides are gone to other theme parks and that the rest of the rides would be sold or demolished..I asked even the Ozark wildcat..and they said the weren't sure yet! And then I told them that they need to bring it to SDC!

It sucks that they couldn't cut the tracks and move them and the trains to Silver Dollar City and rebuild the coaster there.
@jukingeo Жыл бұрын
Not sure if it is just me, but the circuit on this coaster vaguely resembles the Rye Airplane coaster. It would make sense that GCI would go after a classic Prior and Church design given that they have the snake trains that could handle the extreme twisting track.
@justinvinyard440 Жыл бұрын
This GCI coaster opened in 2003 and closed in 2008. They could've just relocate this GCI to another park or something. Why would they demolish this awesome GCI? I mean the layout was wonderful.
