Ever drove across the Poteau Mountain ridge from north of Waldron ,Arkansas to Harrford, Arkansas then to Heavener , Oklahoma. Northern edge of the Ouachita National Forest? It rises 2665ft above sea level near Hartford, Arkansas. Not sure of the roads on the Oklahoma side but on the Arkansas side is 20+ miles of fire road on top the ridge. Overlooked area of the Ouachitas but a beautiful place.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I'm in Mansfield,Arkansas, just a few miles north of Poteau Mountain and there is another Sugarloaf Mountain just north Poteau Mountain. Course I know there is another Sugarloaf Mountain in the Ozarks. But this Sugarloaf is half in Arkansas and half in Oklahoma. There is a road across this Sugarloaf Mountain but last I heard the road on top of that one has been washed out due to heavy rain. Sad because this Sugarloaf has a great lookoff on top. But this Sugarloaf is just north of the Ouachita's and considered the southern edge of the River Valley and has some private property but they never stopped people from driving the road across it . But i don't know if the road on it is shut down or not because the rain washed out road. But the Poteau mountain Ridge is fully In the Ouachita national forest.

Hey Matt and Cara, haven't heard much about your conqueror lately. Was just wondering how life with that beast is going. I bought one as well, and love it, but experiencing some issues with the top canvas and such. Have you upgraded the batteries or power system yet? Any hints on yours would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy living the dream.

The Conqueror is great but we don't use it much anymore and will be selling it soon. It's not ideal to pull with a Gladiator that's already loaded down. I did swap out the batteries with a couple 100ah lithium batteries and that made a huge difference.

I am looking at buying a UEV-490 Platinum pretty soon. I have a 2021 JL Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with the 3.6 liter eTorque V-6 and 8 speed automatic transmission. Do you think my JLUR will tow one of these fully loaded okay? Ironically, I also live in Colorado so there are tons of places that I want to explore. I grew up in Southern California and have been around off roading all of my life and camping off grid but I always did everything previously in trucks and just roughed it in them. Now that I’m older, I still want to go off grid but want a few niceties when I go to those places thus the UEV. Thank you.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Don’t do it. A fully loaded 490 will be well above the JKU’s towing capacity. Either get a smaller trailer or a Gladiator.
@j.r.7772 жыл бұрын
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures , if the Gladiator has the same engine as my JLUR then how is its towing different?
@OzarkOverlandAdventures2 жыл бұрын
@@j.r.777 wheelbase, wider axles, suspension all make a major difference. My JT Rubicon has a towing rating of 7000lbs. The JLU is only 3500. The conqueror fully loaded can exceed 4000lbs. Not safe to pull in a JLU.

You should rig a flange for a stovepipe for the awning for when you convert it into a yurt with the side walls for winter outings ...you know like huntin season. What I'm dying to know is how rough of terrain this camper can endure.....nothing reveals quality like a torture test ....they do it for everything from firearms to knives and even jeeps See if the company that makes this trailer would entertain a torture test ....then hook it up to a really tricked out jeep and take it up oh shit trail . Trust me on this one....this is what gets you more and higher ratings

We have a propane fire pit for that. I'm not pulling a 4000lb trailer that's going to be my home in 3 years on oh shit trail. We've had it off road in the Ozarks and in Michigan on some good trails and it did great. That's all I need to know.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures thanks. I am glad to get another take on that. Sounds setup is fast. Does pack up take a long time? There is another KZbinr that sold his because he said it took too much time to pack up for his liking. I have to imagine that the majority of the time one is not putting the walls up.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures2 жыл бұрын
@@Spdrcerjt-f4m pack up takes a little longer just because you’re making sure all the fabric is tucked in well so it’s not sticking out and causing leaks. But it’s really an easy process. What I love about it is if you’re traveling somewhere and just need a place to sleep for the night, you don’t even have to set it up at all. Just sleep on the lower section and there is zero setup time other than making your bed.
