They’re on sale right now for $649. I just bought two of them instead of the AC200. It has all the watts I need for input and output, so I didn’t need the extra watt output from the AC200. The storage is actually a tiny bit more with two of these than the AC200. That allows me to be charging one in the sun while I’m parked in the shade using the other one keeping my fridge cold. I’ll use the 420 watt fold up solar panel to keep them charged.

I really want to like Bluetti but I've had THREE of their products go bad on me and was ghosted by them EACH TIME when trying to get them to honor their warranty. Disgusting customer service. It turns out it's apparently a regular thing for Bluetti to make warranty repair as difficult as possible. Don't take my word for it. You can easily google "Bluetti warranty problems " and you'll get post after post of their garbage customer service...unless you have a semi large youtube or social media...then they are quick as lighting to respond.

Thank you Matt for sharing the latest and greatest! I've said the same thing which was the missing mid size Bluetti. I believe a 1000 watt is the best all around size. For two reasons 1) Weight 2) Enough power with power in the bank (cloudy days). I also believe the benefit of 2 1000 watt units are you can use each for different systems plus have the convenience of easy to carry around and if one fails you still have power. We just picked up our second AC200 (MAX) for our Purpose Built Adventure Rig. While we could have built a Victron System it's still cheaper to just buy a all in one system. Cheaper, lighter and you can take it any place just like a boom box. 😂 Bluetti just keeps pushing the offerings! I personally feel currently they're really #1 with EcoFlow right behind them. I'm just not going to try to find out nor would I recommend something I've never used. Hope it works out well for you. That looks a lot easier to carry than my ap200. I'm 5'1" and I got the ap200 because I THOUGHT I was gonna take it every where with me until I realized I can only lift it, but not carry it (e.g. carry and walk with it). So, wherever it ended up as a home base unit and does not travel with me because I do not have a man to carry heavy things for me. So, I opted out for eb70s because they stopped carrying the one that looks like a suitcase shape with 1000watts. I also have the eb55, but I needed more power, though I appreciate it for what it is.

Thank you !! I obtained a Bluetti AC70 and was counting on its Power Lifting claim to run my Ninja Foodie Digital Air Fry Oven (Model FT205CCO) on Camping trips. Sadly the AC70 did not power the Oven properly at all. While in Power Lifting mode (claimed to handle 2000 Watt Loads); the Bluetti turned on the Oven .... but nothing got cooked. :(( I used a Kill-a-Watt meter to monitor the power, while on House juice, and the Oven cycled up to 1560 Watts. while cooking stuff. Connected to the Bluetti AC70, the Oven failed to cook anything; and the AC70 power output reading didn't get much above 900 watts. Your video finally cleared up this mystery for me. Thank you !!! ie: It seemed to me that the AC70 Bluetti seriously drops the voltage; and attempts to create an illusion of powering a 2000 Watt device. AND, you confirmed that for me. I was also hoping to use the Bluetti AC70 to run my HAM gear; but I see no way to get enough power out of this unit without using a separate 120VAC power supply. Typically my gear runs on 12 ~ 13.8 VDA, at over 20 Amps; so the AC70 Cigarette Lighter Port at 10Amps falls short. Buying a separate 120VAC to 12VDC power supply just adds more boxes. Do you know of a Bluetti model, or Bluetti adapter, that provides more serious access to 12 VDC power from an Bluetti ?? I am trying to avoid buying a LiFEPO4 battery; pure AC Inverter; etc to DIY a solution.

That does look like a sweet size power station. That's wild it can charge that fast! In our group we have the EB3A, EB55 and AC200max. One trick we have done in our rigs is to duel charge them. Charge AC power with an inverter and then DC through a 12V port. But we boosted our 12V to 24V. Getting a combined 380watts into the EB55 so can charge that in under 90 minutes. Then we are getting 660watts into the AC200max. Not bad for vehicle charging and much better than the standard 100w most people do in their rigs. If you have any of the other Bluetti systems I highly recommend looking into duel charging them and adding a 24V booster wired up correctly.

@@02532gary I would suggest you return it and buy an ANKER or something. The BLUETTI device has a MAJOR security vulnerability. The bluetooth is always enabled when the device is powered on and it is not secured by any authentication or prompt on the device. There is also no way to disable the bluetooth. This means that anyone can connect to the device using the app via the bluetooth interface and control the power station (turn on/off power). This becomes a vulnerability in that critical systems can be turned off, systems that are required for animals (automated feeding systems, fish tank aerators) can be affected putting the wellbeing and life of animals at risk, and at worst, any medical devices can be turned off with a risk to human life.

A significant change on the dc output is that it supports 10.5 amps instead of just 10amps, so it should theoretically power a diesel heater without a problem (most are limited to 10amps which causes a problem for diesel heaters).

Great Video at a great time. I'm getting ready add a fridge and power station. I was going to go with a different brand because I was thinking the bluetti 70 would work most of the time but I would be worried about being close to running out on some trips. The 200max is way more than what I will ever need, why would I pay the cost for the 200max if I wasn't going to ever use all the power from it. To me, that would be a waste of money. If I get the 180, and for some reason down the road I needed more power, I will just pick up the battery pack for the 180. So now, I'm back to looking at the bluetti again. I will be watching for this. As for USB ports, you can never have enough. I'm looking to add 4 more permanent ones to my JK as soon as I come up with a way to add them and make them look like a factory install. I can plug the ac180 into the eb70 and it eventually will charge both using the stock 400 watt inverter. I could use the 12 volt cigarette socket but that would lake much longer.
@Thergood Жыл бұрын
Hey Matt, one thing you should test with these when you get a chance is the cold performance. I have an issue with my Bluetti EB70s, in colder mornings at camp (40-50 degrees and under) if I try to draw a decent load on it, like using my collapsible kettle, pulling 600-700 watts, the battery instantly goes to zero charge and stops working on me. It won't work until I put it on the charger for a while. I'm afraid to purchase something like this if it won't work in moderate cold temps.
@worldcomicsreview354 Жыл бұрын
My AC200Max does the same on winter mornings, from 90-something to zero overnight. Apparently it's issues with the BMS reporting the battery level. I found the issue goes away if you just don't turn it off! I leave my DC outputs on all the time now, this prevents the unit from turning off, and seems to have a neglibile parasitic load (even my crappy, ill-placed solar setup negates it). Only turn the AC on when you need it, though!

The 3rd person understood, put me on hold for a few minutes & eventually told me that they recommended not using the adapter through an inverter that was not pure sine as it could damage the adapter. She also told me that doing this would void the warranty on the adapter & AC180. Could you give me some insight on this?

What would you recommend for running a 40 ft Super C in the desert running three 15k AC with enough solar to keep the AC's running and batteries fully charged daily. Wanting to unplug from pedestal, plug it into a plug on the RV, (from power source), and go on my way with enough power to do anything I want to do including boon-dock until my black tank is full or out of fresh water.

Not having any clue how much power those use I'm confident this isn't it. See my latest video on the Bluetti AC300.

QUESTION: What is maximum amp draw & for how long?---Thinking about a portable AC unit, has 8.5amp draw & 950w when cooling.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures7 ай бұрын
These aren't rated in amps. They are rated in watts. It will handle that load for about an hour.

Is it possible to run a diesel heater and 12v fridge both on DC? Or would you have to run one off of one of the AC power outlets?

Just curious, does this thing have an 1800 watt pure sine inverter inside? I can’t find that anywhere…

yes. all power stations have pure sine inverters these days.

Great vídeo … can you guys help me with my question please? … I have my motorcycle in a storage with no outlets and I’d like to keep the battery tender connected to this power station 24/7. Do you know how long the power station would keep charging ? Does The power station shuts off automatic and when completely charge the battery and turns in automatic when it needs charging? The battery tender’s plug says 12V continuously and alternately and 750mA.. thanks a lot for your help

Not a clue how long that would last. I've never used one of those before,

Drive me crazy that they used the barrel connector on this and not the xt60 they use on their other new models. Say like the new AC70. We may end up going with the AC70 over the 180 because of some changes we like better. Of course its a bunch of less power. That said either of these or all units need some sort of high amperage DC output like a xt60 output. So one could use to tie into mobile systems and switches for any of our vehicle, camper usage. Instead of going through an inverter for dc usage..

Great review! Perfect size for many applications. Can it run a diesel heater via the 12V cig socket? Most diesel heaters have a 20amp fuse, and many of these power units only have 10amp 12v sockets. So my thinking, is the start up voltage for the heater will blow the 12v socket fuse? Your thoughts greatly appreciate.

thank you for your video, Now to the power station concept, and really dont want to go gas generator, in New England and want to be able to run two refrigerators some lights, tv internet, and a couple of 1500 watt portable heaters, in case we lose power in the winter, what would i need with Bluetti?
@OzarkOverlandAdventures11 ай бұрын
1500w heaters aren’t going to last long on any power station. Even with the maxed out Bluetti you could only run two of them for a couple hours. Electric heat is horribly inefficient.

Can it even briefly charge my Ford c-max energi car? The landlord forbids me to throw the cable out of the window and charge the car, he says the house power is not designed for this, although in other buildings people use charging from home. The next time they tell me I can't, I'll tell them that I didn't use the outlet at home, I used this device).

Hey Matt great review, this looks like the answer to my power problem. I spoke with you and asked you @Moore about your aux battery set up... i am glad i waited to purchase anything, THIS AC180 could live in the bed of my firecracker RED version of Sully, under the metal roll up bed cover, and with a decent sized solar panel on the black rhino pioneer rack on the cab keeping it topped off, i shouldn't have to worry about power again... can the Buetti accept multiple power inputs at same time ( like solar and dc power when truck is running) and/or switch between what input power it is being fed? (or do i still need some sort of charge controller {REDARC, KINGS etc.}) thanks in advance for any input, and keep up the great content...
@OzarkOverlandAdventures Жыл бұрын
The Bluetti only has one DC input so there’s no way to connect two charging methods other than AC and DC and the AC will always be faster.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures but the JT does not have the required sine wave inverter on board... can one buy just the "brick" power cord as shown in the vid from Blueti as a work around?

Great review Matt, following along with the same question. Can you charge with a/c in put in a vehicle outlet along with solar w/o swapping the power input? I was wondering if there was only one source allowed at a time. Thanks! Keep up the great work!

@@dsawyer8 I just purchased an AC180 and I have a Champion 2500 inverter dual fuel to use with it. With my small camper, A Bushwhacker +, I think this will work great. I also have 2 100w panels. Weeklong boondock and not have to run gen constantly. Have just played with the AC180 so far. Will say this, it will even trickle on the campers lead acid battery out of the 12 volt output.

@ozarkoverlandadventures did you try charging it directly off your gladiator’s inverter without using the power brick, just the included cord? The let-down for me on this unit is the lack of DC output. I don't travel with many AC devices. There are so many things I like about this unit, but I can connect more devices that I use to the EB3A than to this unit. Almost, BLUETTI.

But only one 12v output rated at 10 amps.... Why Bluetti!? Would have been bomb to have a dedicated 25 amp output like the larger models. This can't run diesel heaters or 12v air compressors.
