I am following along with your videos! I have all the equipment you show in this video, and I highly enjoy this hobby, which has been going on for ten years. Behringer is making it possible for me to get back into the hobby.

Well I hooked the Victor up to my Abacus and this opens a whole new world of synthesis. Modulation possibilities are really incredible. West Coast is cool! See you on the beach. Cheers

That patch may show up in the second detail video. 🤡

@@ozhalljr I can't believe how cool the Victor is with modulation sources. Like Maths or in my case the Abacus. It is now my favorite module. I haven;t gotten to the Brains/Abacus combo yet though! Cheers

This is an excellent tutorial. Your technical descriptions are delivered really clearly and easy to follow. I can’t help but think this sounds like Nicholas cage talking about modular which is no bad thing :)

@@ozhalljr Thanks OZ. It is a very interesting piece of gear. I am looking forward to the computer integration. Using the CV out from my Arturia keystep is a little weird though. The range will not go very low. I am using my CV out from the 2600 and that works fine. Full pitch range. Not quite sure what is happening there. . Thanks again for all the great info. Also I got my Brains module today and the scope works really well with external audio. Cheers

Damn. You had me at the sounds (anything DS) but i had no idea that was a joystick!!! I thought it was a button. (Old , blind) I blame Atari for this addiction. This fills that last spot in my newly acquired nifty box. Great video and thanks for the gas! Be back after i see what bill isnt getting paid. ;)

Thanks for the well made video, it helped me a lot understanding the module. My Victor doesn't deactivate the Joystick, when X/Y-In are in use, though manual says so. Any idea...?
@ozhalljr8 ай бұрын
@matzke0661 thanks! The manual is wrong in this regard. I talk about the interaction between the X in / Y in and the Joystick in this video starting at 4:35. Let me know if you have any additional question. BTW, this behavior is defined in the firmware, so the behavior could change with a firmware update.

How do you set: attack, decay, sustain, release?
@ozhalljr5 ай бұрын
The envelope is for the mix (joystick) position. It is not for amplitude. It is not ADSR but a series of locations and times that it takes to get to that location from the previous location.

Thank you very much for this extensive tutorial. Did you know, that there is an undocumented function? With press YMOD & FREQ Button together, you can select a different waveform engine: Modern, Bright & Vintage

@@ozhalljr I thought to myself, there are combinations regarding the four buttons. Okay, then I'll try out all combinations 😀It is the same feature like the Pro-vs Mini has.

Is my gate input broken? Every preset rings out infinitely
@ozhalljr5 ай бұрын
See my previous comment. Adding to that, this is a mix of four oscillator outputs. Like any VCO, it makes noise continuously. You will need to add a VCA and an ADSR envelope to get the sound you’re looking for. The gate is to start the mix envelope.

is the oled oscilloscope refresh rate better in person?
@ozhalljr8 ай бұрын
@ryanstevens3822 I have not noticed a refresh rate issue looking at the OLED display it in person. I would likely be bothered by that, if it happened. Having said that, perhaps what you mean is that the waveforms don't refresh as often as you'd like. In that case the answer is "it's the same in person as on the video".
@PatternRecognitionMusic8 ай бұрын
The OLED refreshes fine. What you're seeing here is an artifact of combining camera frame rates, OLED refresh rates and your display refresh rates.
