You need to use the hold down clamp when you cut a short piece like you are doing, any one knows that... its not the blade, its you. ☹

I got one today with the stand. It is nicely designed specially with the reasonably priced stand. Cheaper than a Ryobi's 18v brushless circular saw which i returned. Doing some DIY only, so i think this is a reasonable purchase.

Thanks for vid... when I unboxed and set up, the machine was wobbly and I thought 'oh, here we go..' So, just a thing peeps... it was only because I pulled the styro casing out of the box so the cat could play in the empty box that I found the rubber stopper for the foot stabilisation.

I cant just put it on 0 and hope for a 90 angle cut, have to play with it a bit. same with 45 angle.
@robohjhonson37114 жыл бұрын
Mate even if you got a makita saw you need to take your cuts slower it’s not the saws fault it wobbles when you go so fast let the saw cut

Mine isnt a sliding one but its really inaccurate.. even at 0 degrees mitre and bevel it still cuts on a very small angle. I know its a cheapie but still very frustrating

My one went out of place (the blade). I was cutting a log with it; is this machine only for flat wood? Is that the reason? Or is there something wrong with the machine? Essentially my machine couldn't withstand cutting down a log (about 5cm in length and 5cm in width)..

All mitre saws need re alignment from time to time if not out of the box. Should be in the manual.
@sceam1383 жыл бұрын
I have checked the reviews on Bunnings website and still not sure if I can use it to make accurate cuts. Like 45 degrees cuts for a frame.
@Pacifico13084 жыл бұрын
So, you said that you need to do some accurate work, but didn't even check that your cut was square. Obviously accuracy isn't your priority. So why didn't you just get a circular saw?

Mine broke after six months after making some pallet furniture and a small treated pine deck . Motor shaft broke. Tried to return it but was told no . The rude Bunnings employee was adamant that I had done something to it . Never give the Bunnings store any of your business

sorry to here mate. hope you have a better saw now. cheers

Too bad you couldn't get them to honour their part of the deal. I would've made them exchange it and I wouldn't have left the store until they did.
@imnotjacob.4 жыл бұрын
That's illegal. Try a different Bunnings or contact fair trading. You are protected by Australian Consumer Law.
@edithflood6314 жыл бұрын
Should just go to a different Bunnings and don’t diagnose the problem for them. Rinse and repeat until you get at least a replacement.
@josephking65153 жыл бұрын
I hope you gave them a "nice" review over that. Many, many stores just do a straight swap on a broken Ozito. I know it's a year ago but if you ever find yourself in a position like that again, escalate it to the Manager. Some of the employees are little _tin gods_ and you would think the cost is coming out of their own pockets. If you still have the receipt take it to Consumer Protection and get your dough back. What they did is *not* right.
@charissedavidson10094 жыл бұрын
I'm no expert but maybe sit the whole saw on the table and cut a little slower with a small piece. It might stop the saw from wobbling.

Hi iv just purchased a EINHELL mitre saw & guess what !!!!!! its the exactly the SAME as THIS one just a different COLOUR & iv never seen that before unless they are the same company ???????????
@therailrangervmtg86584 жыл бұрын
They are! Ozito and Einhell Australia merged together to form one company 😀(I have the Einhell/Ozito PXC mitre saw too)
@josephking65153 жыл бұрын
As @TheRailRanger VMTG says, they merged or Einhell purchased Ozito in 2014 or 2016 (I've seen both dates mentioned) though I was under the impression that Einhell was a pommy company. Who knows? 🤷♂️

Very important if you would like to saw with precision. (avoid torsion as much as possible)! Always choose a Miter saw with a handle positioned in a vertical line above the saw blade. Everything must be aligned, slide rails, handle, and saw blade, it is much better this way the blade will not tilt. Because there is some torsion in the aluminum housing . And choose an engine with softstart on it to prevent wear of the gear and worm shaft. It is very important that everything is aligned. Here are some examples to show how the handle must be positioned above the blade. Bosch gcm 800 sj / Bosch gcm 8 sjl / Evolution rage 3 / FESTOOL KS 60 / HITACHI C12RSH2 / FESTOOL KS 60 E KAPEX / Metabo KGSV 72 Xact . (This also is the case with the Miter saw without the slide rails). If you want you can test it yourself at home if there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-1. First you make a saw cut from +-5 mm deep in to a flat piece of wood. To this with the normal handle positioned on the right side of the Miter saw. Step-2. Then repeat this by pushing the saw blade down with your hand (finger) on the aluminum protective cover were the saw blade is cased in. Just now only do this without the running engine. Step-3. Now you can see if the saw blade will be positioned in or next to the saw cut. If the saw blade is (+- 0,2 / 0,5 mm) next to the saw cut then there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-4. therefor it is much better to choose a Miter saw with the handle positioned vertical in line above the saw blade. Step-5. When you measure the vertical 90 degrees angle square (Digital Level Box) of you're sawblade don't forget that there is always some torsion in the aluminum housing. Conclusion: Remember this, the test is only about torsion and nothing else how further away the handle is from the saw blade how more chance of torsion in the aluminum housing, you better not go for that. (the choices are yours).

i found it not quite accurate for me. so i got the makita saw instead. cheers.
@josephking65153 жыл бұрын
You need to tweak it until you get it correct on both axis unfortunately. It's a tad annoying but hey, the price and I'm not doing really accurate cuts like NDCTV so it's ok for me. It is about 1° out on mine for a full width cut. One thing that really has annoyed me and no it's not the bag that's afraid to collect the sawdust but rather the sliding rails. They got rust specks after just 2 months. It's kept dry in the garage and last year, 2020, was quite dry during the winter (got it during the 4 month Melbourne lockdown or was it the previous lockdown?).

I think your blade mark at the end is you possibly pushing the wood into the blade as you lift it up. Try clamping the wood before you cut and see if it’s there.
@harveylove2026 жыл бұрын
Marc farnz I bought one two days ago and mine does the same thing. What I’ve noticed is that the blade shudders, and I think it’s the motor vibrating.

Go to the Bunnings website or even click on the following link, click on *Guides & Documents* and then *Manual View Document* which will open the manual in a new tab. You can either read the instructions or save the manual to your HDD. Alternatively, turn the big red "handle" at the back of the saw under the rails until you can tilt the whole saw. Select the desired angle as per the scale when looking at the saw from the front and then lock it in place by re-tightening the big red "handle". Make sure you run through a full blade movement *without* the blade turned *before* making any cuts. This is to ensure you don't hit any metal parts on the device or you will have a very bad day. Make sure you are wearing safety glasses and ear muffs if you value your hearing.

I bought this exact one a couple of years ago. Still going strong. Problems : Nothing major. The laser didn't start working until about 6 months ago. The lock stop was vague, but works better now it has loosened up. Watching this video as I wanted to set up a 600mm stop block and working with 2400mm bits of wood. It can be done, but not particularly convenient.
@josephking65153 жыл бұрын
Damn, forgot that the lack of a convenient stop block was the other thing that was disappointing with this saw. Thanks for reminding me. 👍 I did Google options but there wasn't one for the Ozito and to modify it to work with those published would have null and voided the warranty. Might do it in 2 years time though. 😏
