I have a question about magic pen: The magic damage you do is dependant on the magic resistance of the enemy. So to calculate the best build for ult damage, you would have to weigh in magic pen, for example sorcerers shoes, vs flat AP or Ability Haste, for example Ionian Boots. And you can only really know the better choice when you know the enemys MR. When you calculated the Best build, did you take the average MR from Champions or sth to calculate that?

Used two targets (squishy,tank) to simulate a rough estimate for MR values that both classes would have at the 2nd/3rd/4th etc item slot mark, and then chose between those values. It's not perfectly accurate obviously but it's pretty damn close

It just isn't that good compared to the other options anymore. It's got less haste than it used to and provides no damage effect to scale on the dot besides a little bit of AP, and the actual scaling on traps is pretty low to begin with. Most of the damage is in base + item effects and magic pen is king.
