Look into the mid/side EQ'ing. Basically making all the low frequencies mono and high up freqs stereo, making sure your tracks sound good across any system its played on.

I've got the Ozone 9 Elements plugin now. I love it. I've been making beats for years as a hobby and I have to admit, embarrassingly, that I've never heard of LUFS before I got Ozone. I had no idea that was the better way to measure your music to get it up to standard for podcasting, streaming, etc. 🤔

Ozone doesn't use LUFS though, only RMS!

Thanks man. Ozone claim that the ceiling needs to be -1.0 for streaming and -0.3 for CD. Setting it at 0.0 is likely to cause problems.

@Kain M It's just 130 dollar, which is pretty cheap for it's quality. But you don't have to rely on expensive plugins, stock plugins often are pretty good, just a little harder to use.

I think you are comparing a streaming master that aims for -14 LUFS ( and therefore might have a lower rms) to a downloaded file that from the peaks might be a CD master. If you would have chosen for CD in the first place, you shouldn‘t have had to touch the threshold of the maximizer imho.

Somehow the e.q. from Ozone is really slow, like Ssslow. It takes 5 seconds to see a change and i don't know why, it,s the only plugin active in my DAW.... Windows 10. I had the Ozone 8 to compare but that one reacts inmediately...

Potentially, it really depends what you want for the track, and from the plugins. Example: I use one mastering plugin for low end width, and another for mids and highs. Either one by itself isn't what I'm looking for, but both get the job done. Just remember, "If it sounds good, it is good." - Joe Meek

Unless you want the Maximizer on its own, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. The Imager is available as a free standalone plugin, and there's nothing special about the EQ (it's no Gullfoss). I just paid $30 for it on Pluginboutique and I'm hoping the Maximzer is worth it on its own. Too bad it's not free any more.

IMHO the tutorial is not so good. The reference track and your "mastered" track both have very little dynamic headroom (= overcompressed) and it seems the peaks shoot above 0dbfs (which means unpleasant clipping artefacts will be introduced)!

Currie all iZotope plugins are very good. Can’t fail with them. But they can be a bit advanced to fully understand so I recommend to really take a deep dive into those manuals. But extremely good and versatile plugins!
