My parents bought an Engel around mid 90s and still use it every camping trip. A handy accessory I bought for mine is the little basket that sits in the top. Holds 9 cans and helps give you easy access to drinks when you pack out the rest of the fridge with food for you camping trip.

Have had my Engel 6 years gets used for about 5 hours per day 6 days a week and has never faulted, I like to fill mine with Asahi Super Dry 😀

Engel is my go to for portable refrigerators and freezers. Currently running two 80L Engels on my sailboat with one as a fridge the other as a freezer. These units are around two decades old now, run continuously days upon weeks upon months upon years, are only fed off a 12v battery/solar system, and still purring along nicely.

I bought the 60L and love it. My mate and did the Bourke & Wills expedition plus went across to the Daintree and long the coast to Wollongong, 10,600km worked perfectly.

I’ve had these for over 40 years .. a tip try if you can before you leave have it on freezer by 240 then when you leave turn to fridge AND try and have you meat veggies in Tupperware containers FROZEN then when you camp the fridge will not work so hard & you just take out the meat veg in the morning good to go for tea ..

Bloody ripper review, Ozzie! Definitely looks better than the Waeco, Dads waeco's display died 1 month after the warranty period and not replacable due to old model so had to bin the whole fridge. My beer of choice is Better beer because it is zero carbs and zero sugar (and I won 100slabs on fb)

Had my 60 liter Engel 8 years now . Not bolted down , been all over Vic high , packed heaps of wood on top many times .. dusty as still going strong 💪🏻

They are solid, mine is fairly heavy compared to cheaper models but it’s quality

I bought a Waco 6 years ago, and I’ve regretted not getting an Engle since, the Waco’s fine but the, internal capacity compared external dimensions of the Waco suck, the Engle are just a better form factor

I have to admit I’m happier with the Engel over the Dune that I reviewed but it’s twice the cost but most likely will last 3x longer too

With all the hype around the legendary reliability Engels have, I got to say when I finally lashed out and bought a new one you can understand my disappointment when it died on its first trip. Maybe they dont make em like they used too..

@@bearlyawake3904 should of still been under warranty. Her NL are good, guessing in today’s world of corner cutting for profit that it’s possible to get lemons from every company at a higher rate than 20 years ago.
