My issue with the case is what Hollywood did to Johnny. His career was ruined over the simple claim that she was assaulted, even though numerous people said that amber was a lying POS and that Johnny was a pretty good guy. And meanwhile, Amber's career was just fine, landing a major role in the justice league universe. Even after all this evidence proving that she was at least as abusive as Johnny was, if not a lot worse, Hollywood continued to treat her as the victim

Credits to the whole #metoo foundation..... I support people to speak out against DV if they were part of that. I truely do, because such a thing is just horrible. However, it has been abused so much over the last couple years. And all of the hollywood claims had to do with money. Pure money. Not at first to stop this person, oh no. I WANT YOUR MONEY! amber even said such a thing that no one would believe him. And I solemly agree to what you are saying. It is such a shame how people went against Johnny. Fun fact: People got their surnames (last names) around the 11th century to distinguish themselves from others with the same first name. Their surnames were based on something they were well-known for, such as: a trade, skillset, location, physical attributes, appearance, and reputation. Imagine the heritage of someone with the last name "Rottenborn". I just found it SO perfectly fitting for someone on Amber's side to have *this* last name of all names. lol

I definitely think amber is more of the psycho and abused him. But how can you say there is no evidence of his abusing her when there are photos? But you can’t just dismiss that and say there is no evidence

The thing about that recording is she genuinely doesn't seem to think she's abusing him. She doesn't think it's possible for men to be abused just because women are physically weaker and can't cause as much damage. She admits to hitting him but doesn't think it really hurt him so she thinks he's just being dramatic. Of course, this is an outdated mindset that is sexist against both men and women. Women can cause significant harm, especially with a weapon such as a wine bottle. And especially because men can't risk retaliating. Even restraining her would be risky.

So far all I've learned in this trial is, johnny would try his best to get out of the situation, ie: go to another room. after these fights/arguments, Johnny (very rightly) would get upset, frustrated, etc, and could take this out on furniture or walls, and sometimes on drugs, using them as a "coping mechanism". So Johnny would run away, punch walls and furniture, take drugs and vent his anger in colorful text messages. But so far we haven't seen any evidence that suggests he ever got physical with anyone else, let alone Amber. We've also seen Amber try to verbally push Johnny into a reaction, which (from what we've seen) he has just walked away from it.

It's proven beyond a doubt that Amber was physically abusive. It's also proven beyond a doubt that she was the one who initiated the physical fights. I suspect if Johnny ever got physical it was in self defense. There's a big difference in 'breaking stuff' and beating someone up. Johnny has had many well publicized relationships and never a hint of abuse. Amber's past relationships always involved abuse allegations (against her), police involvement and in one case, an order of protection (against Amber). If the roles were reversed, that history alone would end the case. Add to that the audio of Amber talking about starting physical fights and hitting Johnny and telling him to stop being a pussy, yeah, that would have landed a man in jail. So, I'm team Johnny all the way. By the way, I'm a woman and a DV survivor. Yes, men can also be victims of DV and yes, Johnny's right, there's rarely a yes or no answer about what happened.

I have a question about her “bruises:” Johnny is always wearing bulky, chunky rings so what happens if someone is hit by someone wearing that kind of ring? Do you get mild bruising or do you get horrible marks, possible cuts from them? From personal experience when I accidentally hit someone with my graduation ring while swinging my arm (person was behind me, I didn’t know I was going to hit them) there was a massive bruise and swelling and a little cut. That’s not something you can hide with some makeup.
@laiatezenas33002 жыл бұрын
I have to agree. My uncle wears lots of jewelry too, and as we were trying to fix a boat motor, he accidentally punched me in the nose. The ring was so heavy it broke my nose, but it was an accident. It's totally possible these bruises came from something similar.

Fair point but it’s not impossible for them to have gotten into a physical scuffle involving grabs and slaps without actual fist punches. They both seem pretty petty and uncontrolled. Its possible he did not hit her but the rings are not really much evidence.

You skipped over one of the best parts so far. Heard's team stood up and stated that she had to use a concealing makeup product to hide her injuries, and the next day the cosmetic company announced that this was impossible because the product didn't exist when Heard was allegedly using it. She's already admitted that she was physically violent with him, she's already been caught lying in the court room, and there's no evidence at all that Johnny did anything other than be drunk and take drugs. The fact that her team can only try to assassinate his character further shows that they have nothing, while he's basically won already, through Amber being caught up in her own lies.

But on top of this, is Miss Turd believes they prove Johnny’s abusive. Which is even more psycho - if there is such a thing. Because in these tapes, she admits to hitting him. She is clearly the abusive one. And at no point, in any of her secretly recorded tapes where she is manipulating and berating him in an effort to record him attacking her, does he ever hit her. The most reliable predictor of future behavior is past behavior. The fact that his ex partner of over a decade (16 years, I believe) stood up for him when this all started, and stated clearly, with zero wiggle room that Johnny Depp was a kind and gentle man and was never violent to her speaks volumes. Amber was arrested in 2009 on DV charges where she allegedly struck her partner, Ms. Ree. True domestic abusers don't just all of a sudden stop or start, it's usually a lifelong pattern. My opinion, uniformed though it may be, is that Amber is the instigator.

The primary issue is that Johnny is symbolic in nature, the cutting part was a gesture rather than a declaration. He does a good job of explaining it later, but when you deal with people who use monty python references and express themsleves with a deep vocabulary, much of the language is symbolic. So if you take it literally, he's offering to kill himself, if you take it in context he is expressing a question of whether or not Heard would like to have him take the last thing he holds inside himself, the blood in his veins. This is important, the more complex ones vocabulary and symbolic language, the less literal you can interpret their statements. This is similar to when he referenced monty python when talking about burning heard (the burning witch in monty python).

Instead, the court is picking through every facet of their relationship to find any evidence that he physically abused her. Meanwhile Johnny can't get work to save his life, yet her career is just fine. The double standard here is just disgusting!

Johnny didn't press charges against her for the physical abuse. Even now he's not pressing charges for the physical abuse. He's suing her for libel on the grounds that her article wrecked his career. Since the truth is an affirmative defense against libel he has to prove that the claims she made in the article are false. Next he will have to prove that they have caused material harm to his reputation and/or career. That *should* be easier but you never know.

The part in the trial about him objecting to the answer to his own question is downright hilarious.

Rottenborn's an icon of the 21st century, you could tell him how the sky is blue and the sun is hot and he would respond with "Objection hearsay speculation compound" and overall, he is a 9.5/10 comic relief character

Watching excerpts from the trial It amazes me that Heard's team are allowed to introduce so much information that is 24-carat hearsay. The fact that they are reduced to reading out negative headlines about Depp as if they must be based in fact when they are written by people with no direct connection to the events and people involved shows how desperate they are to bias the jury as their only way of swaying things in Heard's favour. Also (spoiler alert) Heard's team were caught passing notes between a witness and Heard during the trial and also tweeting while the trial was live. This particular witness/friend was removed from court twice. The judge was hella pissed by these activities. As for whether Depp injured Heard, there are no independent witnesses that saw any injuries to Heard. Even her friend testified that Heard was unmarked at a time she claimed to be showing bruises from an attack. If I remember correctly that was when she faked injuries for a photo session. The friend was rightly disgusted by this attempt to fake injuries and stated that it put genuine victims at risk of being disbelieved. Last point for now. If you look at Heard's body language you can tell there's something not right. She is constantly trying to pull a face of some kind and it results in her looking batshit crazy. She's trying to control her expressions and it's leading to a confused mix of facial ticks. Whenever something makes her smile she quickly tries to reign in the grin when she remembers that every expression is being watched and recorded. She may be able to act with a script and a director in front of her, but she can't fake it for shit in the real world. She really reveals herself by the way she shows no interest in 90% of what's happening and then suddenly becomes very attentive when she's asked something that she has been coached to respond to in a certain way. But even then, she often seems to forget what her prepared response is supposed to be and trails off into incoherent gibberish. You might say her brain is constantly doing flippy spinny shit.

In regards to your first point, the lawyer wasn't reading out those headlines to try and paint Johnny in that light. He was trying lay a foundation for his next argument that Johnny had quite a bit of negative press at the time in question, which may have been enough for Disney to want to cut ties with him. It's not about whether or not the headlines were true, just that they were being published. I agree with everything else you said though.
