I'm not here to bash anyone, but I have seen many songs that Marty improvises his own ideas and own interpretation. Often times, he doesn't mimic the exact thing the original composers do. This is very accurate.

This is so great, thank you. What I appreciate is the level of detail. I played this cover in the late 80s (pre-internet!) and I can see now that I simplified and missed bits like the open A to 12-fret A5 and the added note on the verse section. I suppose my version sounded ok, but those extra bits brings the song to a different level (as it should be).

Nice job, I find it easier and more accurate to play the E Major chord coming out of the opening riff like this. E|--0 B|--5 G|--4 D|--6 A|--7 E|--0 Playing this second position E Major places your hand only one fret away from the pre-verse riff which follows fast and it also sounds great.

Lemme just say , if you have good ears, you'll notice in the original recording as the bass & drums count off the intro before the guitar begins , Randy flips the toggle switch on the guitar (my guess is he has the volume rolled completely off on the neck pickup - the position the toggle switch is at ) to the bridge pickups - just before the pick scrape . I guessing he is standing in front of the Marshall stack that was made for him , at a high volume - flips the toggle switch to the bridge pickup & the guitar immediately feeds back in a high pitch - THEN he does the pick scrape. Basically he's simulating a train horn . Either Randy was playing his white Gibson Les Paul custom or the polka dot Flying V - both guitars he brought with him to England from when he was in Quiet Riot .
