The P-51 Mustang "Swamp Fox" performs a non-aerobatic display at 2023 Wings Over Wayne. Shot on Saturday, May 20.
The North American P-51 Mustang was an American fighter used during WWII. This P-51 was restored in 2012 in Chino, CA. It was purchased by Robert Dickson Sr, and it is now owned and flown by RT Dickson Jr, Robert's son. They had the P-51 painted to honor Lt. Will Foard's Mustang, named "Swamp Fox" after a Revolutionary War hero.
RT usually flies aerobatics in Swamp Fox. However, due to the low cloud cover at the beginning of the air show, aerobatics were not authorized. While it may not be as exciting, it was still cool to see this beautiful piece of history flying.
Enjoy!
