Thank you for uploading Geoffrey. Do you know what ever happened to Rugby Run and whether it is still functioning well under this system? If it is, I really don't understand the lack of inertia in this country...

AussiePharmer Hi AussiePharmer, I'm glad that you appreciated the video. I am still in contact with the semi-retired John Sweet but Rugby Run has been sold; sadly I believe that it is not being operated on Keyline principles. John is still advocating for Keyline to be used east of the Great Dividing Range in Queensland to protect the Great Barrier Reef. Geoffrey Booth Thank you for the update Geoffrey. It's a real shame they arent using all the existing infrastructure on Rugby Run. Things just really need to happen in most countries. There's too much talk and not enough action. Farmers need to run for office!

AussiePharmer Hi AussiePharmer, Rugby Run is near an open cut black coal mine; the railway mentioned in the video was a compulsorily acquired private coal haulage railway easement that interrupted the overland flow of water to Keyline Water Conservation Drains. Darren J Doherty, Regrarians (www.regrarians.org/about/regrarians-trainers/) is the man that is making things happen. Regards Geoff

Imagine agronomists still having to advocate for "grain crops grown with a legume" 35 years later! It seems to be the 'fate' of all those nice ideas: they don't seem to fit into the grand scheme of things...

Now, the best systems are believed to be of atleast 4 different plant families, with the maximum economically feasible productivity and resilience being at the 7-12 species variety. Continuous cropping with support species is the true way to fertility it seems, copying nature's way. With the added benefits of greatly increased profit margins, and the suppression of fertilizer and biocides use.
