He was a Revolutionary poet and it is obvious from his publication of the pamphlet: " The Necessity of Atheism" which he put on the doors of a local cafe. The very title of the essay symbolizes his thinking. He asserted in the essay that how can he believe in the existance of God when He can't be seen. He wrote the essay when he was still studying at Oxford and subsequently got expelled on the account of the above-mentioned essay. He wanted to bring about a new perception to the world that Atheism was necessary. Later his revolutionary thoughts got another direction when he started writing poetry. His first major work " Queen Mab" deals with the themes of liberty which can only be obtained through passive resistance and unswerving patience for the nature which is both the creator and the annihilator. Man should only think for the betterment of society and he is not supposed to bid to procure freedom through violent ways. The themes were reiterated in his subsequent poetic works with the likes of The Revolt of Islam, England 1819, Masque of Anarchy and last but certainly not the least " The West Wind" which can also be bestowed upon the title of Shelley's identification. Ma'am is right when she says " Shelley was the most fiery" He can be called the most fiery due to his defiant act of publishing an immoral essay regarding Atheism. He didn't care for his life even though he was acutely aware of what had happened to Christopher Marlowe who shared Shelley's thoughts concerning the existance of the Almighty. To conclude, Shelley was a rebel in many respects and he is the most influential of all the Romantic poets.

She knows a lot about the contents of the poetry and what is the meaning. allthough you never know that of course. However I find it a pity that she doesnt speak about his private life. That's what i expected and wanted to hear.
