Pécsváradi Vár
Pécsvárad is a town founded in the Middle Ages with over 4,000 inhabitants in southern Hungary in Baranya County. The town is located in the east of the Mecsek Mountains on the slope of Mount Zengő, near the Eastern Mecsek Mountains Protected Landscape Area.
Although this place is known as "Pécsváradi castle", the name is misleading, because this building complex was never a castle in the military sense. It had walls and bastions, but their task was to protect the people living inside against possible robber attacks. They were not suitable for standing a serious siege, and it did not take place during its existence. (Wiki)
