เป็นวันดีๆ วันหนึ่งในสวิสเซอร์แลนด์ เมื่อมองลงไปในสระน้ำแถวนั้นโดยไม่ได้ตั้งใจแล้วก็ต้องรีบคว้ากล้องมาบันทึกภาพแม่เป็ดกับลูกๆ กำลังเตรียมตัวจะลงน้ำ นำโมเม้นต์น่ารักๆ มาฝากทุกท่านค่ะ
It's a wonderful day in Switzerland. When I spotted a red-crested pochard and her ducklings in the nearby pond, I couldn't help but reach for my camera to record the moments they waddled into the water. Such a delightful moments to share!

เป็นนกขนาดกลาง มีความยาวลำตัวประมาณ 56 เซนติเมตร ตัวผู้ขอบปีกสีขาว ส่วนตัวเมียขอบปีกสีน้ำตาล ในช่วงฤดูผสมพันธุ์ตัวผู้มีปากสีแดงและมีหัวกลมใหญ่สีส้มถึงน้ำตาลแดง กระหม่อมสีน้ำตาลเหลือง คอสีดำ ลำตัวด้านล่างสีดำ สีข้างสีขาว ลำตัวด้านบนสีน้ำตาล
อาหารได้แก่ สาหร่าย ต้นอ่อนของหญ้า กก และพืชน้ำอื่น นอกจากนี้ยังกินเมล็ดหญ้า เมล็ดข้าว แมลง และสัตว์น้ำ
อาศัยอยู่ตามแหล่งน้ำ เช่น บึง หนอง ทะเลสาบ เป็นต้น พบอยู่เป็นฝูง จะอยู่รวมฝูงกับนกเป็ดน้ำอื่น ปกติเป็ดปากแดงหากินด้วยการว่ายบนผิวน้ำในแหล่งน้ำลึก ถ้าเป็นแหล่งน้ำขนาดใหญ่และลึกมากมันจะว่ายอยู่เฉพาะบริเวณขอบ ปกติเป็ดปากแดงจะตกใจง่าย เมื่อมีสิ่งรบกวนหรือได้ยินเสียงผิดปกติมันจะบินขึ้นเหนือน้ำทันที
