Not true. I have had it happen to me, and have watched it happen and heard about it happening to countless other students, more than once, and even though it was reported nothing was done about it whatsoever. Ffs You would be unpleasantly surprised to find out how often this type of thing actually happens, and other students that witness it sometimes even go as far as lying for the teacher in order to recieve better grades or special privileges from them and etc.

This reminds me of my experience In elementary school, I was always last in everything: races, fitness test results, and even the last one to go inside because I was scared of other kids overhearing what the coaches would say. two days a week we had to run a mile which I usually walked and of course, they always got mad at me. One day they forced me to run it and I had an asthma attack and nearly passed out, so as I was last again, they kept scolding me. They went to take me to the principles office for “disobedience” and when the principle saw me, they recognized right away that I was having an asthma attack and took me to the nurse. You would think that would change the way they were but it didnt. This continued all the way through 5th grade and as I would find out, when my little sister went to that school about 1 year after me, the coaches recognized her last name and said to her “dont be like your sister, shes fat and lazy” to this day im still “fat and lazy” which my sister is “fit and energetic.” it makes me wonder if the coaches words had that much of an impact on her

Shaming a student for not being able to do something is one of the worst and most discouraging things a coach can do. I was shamed for being inflexible at my dance class since day one(I was 6 and went dancing for 7 years) - that was absolutely awful, and honestly, extremely unprofessional. And the worst part is that my dance teacher never necessarily taught the inflexible kids to stretch correctly to improve - she just made fun of us and called us "lazy" even though she new we physically couldn't do some stuff without frickin pain. Everyone deserves positivity and credit for trying their best, and most importantly - good instructions on how to actually improve. And mixed with fat-shaming it's 10 times worse. Such people don't deserve to be coaching anyone.

And let's not forget that a qualified coach that *quote* "makes champions" gives guidance on how to do sth right instead of just telling you off. Making mistakes is a part of learning.
