a brilliant play that sadly got to see only twice in London, at the beginning of the run and at the end, it changed a bit but it was interesting to watch, I bet the Broadway version was a little different too, this part proves it, much more comic in timing and presentation. Met Charlie Cox he signed my playbill, saw Tom at the end of the street couldn’t reach him cause of the crowd. Tom is so good in this, theatre is his natural place.

Carolyn's Reading Ramblings agreed! I saw it in 2013 when the stage setup was much more elaborate, the actors were Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, and it left me cold. I enjoyed this iteration so much more compelling.
@CarolynsReadingRamblings5 жыл бұрын
@@mobycat33 oh wow! Yes I did love this stage set up with pretty much no set and very few props. That's interesting that this version appealed to you more, did the Daniel Craig/Rachel Weisz one have the dark comedy elements the way this did? I am envious that you got to see both because when I heard that Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz did the 2013 one, I was sad that I didn't know about it to try to see it not only because I think they're both fantastic actors but also I'd love to see how a real life husband and wife acting duo play this married couple on stage. Thanks for the reply! Happy Holidays 😀❤️🎭
@mobycat335 жыл бұрын
@@CarolynsReadingRamblings To be perfectly honest, I dozed off a couple of times during the 2013 show! I do remember some of the dark comedy. I was also in the mezzanine, and while the seats were decent, the set was basically a diorama that was much, much smaller than the massive stage it sat on (about half the size - imagine the set in a box on top of a larger table), so it was odd to see the actors walk across a blank part of the stage to get to the set. Being in the mezz also meant I couldn't really see the actors' faces. I was in the 3rd row for this iteration, and seeing their expressions (I could see the tears on their faces) helped to make me more invested in the characters and the story than the 2013 version.
