My humble opinion is most of these singers don’t have proper diction of Thamizh which is the saddest state of affairs. Also, the present day music directors have not produced worthwhile songs sadly because they themselves have not been up to the mark compared to the ones from the sixties and seventies. After the gifted singers such as the revered P.Susheela and S. Janaki avargal , we really have not heard any voices that can even hold a candle to the afore mentioned National treasures. Fortunately, the discoveries such as Soorya Gayathri, Rahul Vellal, Dyaneshwari, and Uttara and a lot more gifted kids like these are showing a great deal of promise and hope. The challenge is to find more such the gifted singers. I have not heard anyone like that so far in this contest. The songs selected here are pretty awful and they are just sub standard to what I used to enjoy in my days in India back then. But I am still hopeful that there are still some hidden treasures which will surface sooner or later.😀

Actually, when did this contest take place? The viewers are just getting to learn about this only now in 2023. Was it 10 years back or 5 years back?
