4:16-7:42 After hearing all the "legit" complaints on NYC subway, I just had to say ONE thing. NYC subway is steamy hot in the summer, and freezing cold in the winter. It also have frequent delays from accidents and maintenance on tracks. Subway carts are old and dirty, as matter in fact, very dirty and run down in some stations where foreign visitors will never think of visit. It's slow, especially in late or early morning hours, lots delays, and lots, lots people most of the time. Back to that "ONE" thing, NYC subway stays open, runs, and stops at most major or popular stations at 24/7/365. I've traveled to Paris(annually), Rome(biannually), London, Cairo, also lived at Washington D.C., Atlanta (no eating, no drinking), Miami, and just one week ago returned from Taipei. None of these major cities spending millions of US$Dollars a day, 24 hours and 365 days a year. Less than 10 days ago, from Taipei Main station to Xi-men, the yellow taxi cost NT$105-$110 one way taxi trip after the Taipei Metro stops at 12:45am. Where 1am at Time Square is still considered "rush hour" and all trains still running, no late evening costs or longer distance extra charges, still one same fare/cost. Have you try to take a cab in Paris after 1am? Be prepare to cough up extra Euros. In Cairo, be brave to haggle for your late evening prices. In Rome, good luck, you're on your own. My suggestion, Uber as plan B. Yeah, I love to travel but I'm also a very proud Manhattanite, simply because NYC subway is NOT the best but it runs 24 hours, "most of the time".

Same thing happen to me in nyc all the time, that’s why I travel light, no more suitcase for me, and either I’m going to jump in the train fast or I’ll wait for next one
