Exactly. Authenticity always beats polished aesthetics, especially in music. I have heard some songs sung so well at the first time when the singers were not well known, and when those songs made into commercial CDs, perfectly arranged and polished, the souls are GONE.
I like this website and always enjoy his professional opinion. I am a believer of diversity, especially in creative arts. I love do lung's music for the lyric and melody coming from his heart with little polish, and with them the common people can resonate. Aesthetics and authenticity sometimes don't line up. For me, music has to speak to my heart/spirit, let it be classic music, jazz, French songs, Mongolian songs, Cuban or Brazilian music. I know it is good for "ME" when I hear it....
