This lady is such a talented artist! That's my favorite song out of "Missundaztood" - Pink's masterpiece seconed album. The whole album is autobiographical and has helped me through a rough patch. -That's why I will always love her. Btw, one of the co writers - producers of the album is Linda Perry, who later worked with Christina Aguilera and wrote the song "Beautiful"🌺Your commentary, is very spot on👍

Linda is a real gem she brought the best out of all the artists she worked with.

Yes! Just look for the live Grammy performance. I was crying watching it live. It’s incredible.

I'm so glad how much you paid attention to this video. Especially about the fact that the young girl was playing P!nk as a young girl. I think some people really gloss over that main part. Love this video, love P!nk! I relate so much with this song from personal experience. P!nk is a real one, always singing straight to us, not just in general.

Even though (luckily) I only partly relate, as a child of divorced parents I can still bawl my eyes out to this song from time to time. She conveys the feelings of desperation and being powerless so well.

This is a very old song actually. It is not her daughter (who wasn't born then). But that song is very important for P!nk because this is her childhood, her life story. This was her. This is a very moving song.

Wow, these are some real life lyrics here. Thanks 4 expounding on them Jack, you interpreted them well.

Might be in the top 2 of Pink songs for me. Unforgettable song, performance, video, everything. "Family Portrait" is the fourth single from her second album Missundaztood (2001), co-written by Pink and Scott Storch, also produced by the latter. It peaked within the top 20 in both the UK and the US. Please react to P!nk - "Just Like a Pill."

Pink has so many good, formidable hits. I don’t think she gets enough credit for how well-crafted her catalogue is. At times, I wonder what would’ve happened had she stayed in the R&B lane.
@markmenez40978 ай бұрын
She wouldn’t had been as successful and true to herself. She still put some elements of r &b in her albums .
@gabrielmcdonnell86998 ай бұрын
@@markmenez4097 I agree 100%. I just didn’t know that when P!nk dropped her 1st album. Pop/rock is her _natural_ element; she’s amazing in that lane. Yup, she can produce a soulful vocal but R&B, in my humble opinion, is _NOT_ innate for P!nk as it is for, say, Teena Marie, Lisa Stansfield and Joss Stone. ✌🏽

New subscriber. Really loving this channel, please keep them coming, love seeing you vibe! Yeah this particular song/video faded out too early at the end, as it had more lyrics that really ended the song well, but loved the reaction. This is one of the best Pink songs, it's really up there! All the love Jack!

She is amazing!! You should react to her live performances... she is unbelievable! And she ALWAYS sings live. I would recommend "glitter in the air" live at the grammys 2010🙏🙏🙏

I've been going to therapy for a few years now and in one of my sessions my therapist explained to me that in a child's mind, whatever happens at home is what is more natural for the child and what the child will consider to be normal, generally speaking. So, if your parents are arguing all the time and are verbally or even physically violent, then violence will be much less strange to you. This is not to say that you will yourself necessarily be more violent, but you will certainly be more familiar with violence, and you will probably know better than the rest how to navigate it, either as a bystander, a perpetrator, or a victim of it, the same way growing up with internet access from a young age means you're much more likely to be familiar with the internet and be able to navigate it much better than someone who doesn't. Additionally, and going a bit deeper, because "what happens at home is normal" and because you always assume that your parents love each other and that they love you as well, you're much more likely to associate being violent with showing love. This doesn't mean you think being violent is good, but it does mean that you may think that love will bring about the negative consequences of violence, for example, as in the line "I don't want love to destroy me like it has done my family". All of this to say that I hadn't noticed that lyric before, cuz I don't really listen to this song that often, but now I did and it hit me like a ton of bricks because of this deeper understanding I have from therapy and I simply wanted to share it with someone else to further enrich their experience of listening to these magnificent lyrics.
