We enjoyed the food last year. We asked for chips in the main dining room. There after our waiter brought us chips every night. We are vegetarians and felt that we were well caterd for. My only gripe was the breakfast toast, which was often cold and poor quality.

I think you're very harsh, God knows what you'd expect from a 3/4 star class cruise. If you want what you'd like book a double price cruise. PO have brought cruising to a more wider clientel, won't watch any more of your videos you sound like a right snob, not my kind of person. I've just come off a PO cruise and everything was fantastic, especially the food and entertainment.

Glad to hear you’ve had a good experience, it’s a very popular line, can’t please everyone. We have lines we love that we go on instead and they’re only a bit more expensive.

Pretty fair comments. I found the MDR & Buffet food on the Ventura didn't compare well to the MSC Viruoso or Marella Explorer, but the upside was the discounted price on P&O. The Beach House was also a bit of a let down, but the pizza was quite good in the poolside grill.

Thanks! I agree, I recently did a food review of MSC Virtuosa too and compared it, giving the buffet the win on msc but I gave the MDR the win on P&O. But yes, you’re right about the price - that’s why we tried it! Was a cheap cheerful getaway and did the job.

Just off Iona and found the MDR to be a big let down. Felt like 1970s british food, every meal was basially "a roast meat, 2 veg, and form of potato". Nothing that could be considered vaguely foreign or containing and sort of spicing or flavouring! Likewise the lunch and dinner buffets didn't have anything that looked appealing. Quays was nice and had that for most lunches. Our pizza from taste 360 (pool grill) was very meh. Olive grove was okay On the speciality side, Keel and Cow was good, went twice. Glass house (tapas) was good too. The other specality places were booked up before we even got onboard so didn't get to try epicurian or Sindu. Overall didn't totally hate Iona but wouldn't hurry back to P&O. I like to experiance new tastes and cultures on hoilday and P&O seems to be for people who want to be shielded from that.

Yep agreed, it’s definitely a line where if you want consistency and familiarity it’s great, but nothing to surprise you or learn anything new. We thought other ships might be different (we did Ventura) but doesn’t sound it! So far our favourite cruise lines for food if you want to try new things that have the wow factor have been Azamara and celebrity, loved the food on both and we now judge to that standard on every line!

I have just come off that ship and i would never go on a P&O cruise again, the food was shxxe. Dry bland cheaply made food, not prepared properly, even in the main dining room, bloody awful. At the end of the cruise I got food poisoning, I have not been that sick in years. If I ever saw another panacota or some form of mousse with dry stale cake it will be too soon. Dont get me started on the midnight buffet and the God awful cheap coffee, rank. I have complained and i am awaiting a response. If you are looking to book a holiday on this shxxt heap please don't, save your money.

I do enjoy and cooking and consider myself fairly good, maybe it’s just different food im not used to!

Yeah she sounds a right snob to me, I've heard comments from the posh lot moaning about the Butlins mob lol, she doesn't think anyone should be cruising unless you're born with a liver spoon in your mouth!

@@BethandDavidCruise the reality is you don’t pay money or go away not to be impressed in my opinion. Food is one of the biggest things on a cruise the minimum I expect from a cruise is good food and some entertainment. The Iona was an amazing ship, Norway was amazing but the food was disappointing and when something is bad you’re then looking for it. You’re providing an honest review. Thanks 👍🏻

@@pointdujour2703 agree - food is the highlight for me! I’ve heard better about newer p&o ships, but after we’ve tried Celebrity and Azamara now, think it’ll be hard to pursuade us to try p&o again. Despite a lot of the comments on our p&o videos, we don’t complain a lot, so must’ve been pretty meh for us to say something about it! Not all lines will be for everyone and I don’t want someone to go on a cruise due to my word of it being good and then it be disappointing. Thanks for your comments 😊

@@BethandDavidCruise we been watching your videos a couple of days now they seem fair, imo keep giving honest feedback, it’s what your experience is not anyone else’s they can make their own minds up and judge by their standards. Luckily we are all different or it would be very boring 👍🏻👍🏻 thanks for the videos guys
