Thank you for this video! I just built this thing alone within about 1hr, despite not having any building experience other than 1-2 ikea pieces every decade or so and the Kinder Joy eggs from my childhood ;) The only small hiccup I faced when i had neglected to roll open the tarp part completely before beginning to screw tight the first R1L1 section. So just be sure to lay it out properly before starting assembly, and it should work out fine. I had no issues with the cover (green). For the main part do remember that there is a side zipper you have to open FIRST!

The assembly of this couch wasn’t this simple. The tension in reality is NOTHING as this video suggests. Getting the first black tube attached is as described. The second should be as easy. But it’s a bit more difficult. The 3rd, the bottom/rear part won’t do what is shown. This must’ve been pre stretched to relieve the tension simply to get the bar into the bolts that secure it. However, now that I’ve watched this, I’m hoping when I look again at the place I stopped earlier I’ll see something i over looked earlier. As for the cover, I’m guessing as others have commented, this was something that will require more effort than this video shows. I was just hired to assemble about 16 ikea furniture items. All were too simple to require anything beyond the provided parts list and well made assembly directions. But the couches instructions lack clarity.

This couch is, low key, a nightmare to assemble. The tension like you said is insane and not easy at all. There is no room for any error but even then I think the tension is just too much. Even the cover doesn't zip up due to tension. I'm not sure why Ikea makes all their couch covers just a little too small

At first I had the same problem with the tension, but then I followed the technique they used in the video for rolling the third bar around (flipping the handle back up halfway through) and it worked perfectly.
