Bharatmala gift to Bihar
A few days ago, Bihar had sent a proposal of eight roads to the central government under Bharatmala Project-I. In this, other roads including Patna-Kolkata Expressway were included. Minister Nitin Naveen had requested to include some more roads of Bihar in Bharatmala Phase-II. On their advice, the Center had asked to send a proposal for four more roads. The proposal was duly sent to the Center after a high level meeting and then after getting the consent of CM Nitish. A total of 905 km of road will be built by joining all the four. These roads will have at least four lanes. By the way, the expressway can also be of six or eight lanes.
Buxar-Bhagalpur Expressway The total length is 350 kms. At present, the Purvanchal Expressway is being constructed from Buxar to Delhi. Bihar Road Transport Department says that the silk of Bhagalpur is famous all over the world. In such a situation, if Bhagalpur is connected with the Purvanchal Expressway, then the silk of the state will be easily accessible to other states as well as to other countries. This expressway will also be connected to all the bridges across the Ganga, which will increase the road connectivity of the state.
Nawada-Barauni-Jhanjharpur-Ladniya Highway The total length is 220 kms. Nawada, the southern part of the state, will have direct connectivity with Nepal through this road. Ladniya will be connected with Barauni-Jhanjharpur. With the construction of this road passing through Kosi and Kamala rivers, connectivity in this area will increase.
Manjhi-Barauli-Bettiah-Bagha-Kushinagar Highway Its length is 215 kms. This road connecting North and West Bihar will also be important from the point of view of tourism. For example, sugarcane industrial range including Lauria, Kushinagar, Valmikinagar tiger project will also benefit from this road.
Kahalgaon-Kursela-Forbisganj Fourlane The total length is 120 kms. Kahalgaon is considered to be the industrial hub of eastern Bihar. Vikramshila will also be associated with this. Forbesganj is connected by the East-West Corridor. Along with this, it will also be connected to the international checkpost Jogbani. This road will not only benefit Bihar but also the Santhal Parganas area of Jharkhand. This road will also require a four-lane bridge over the river Ganga at Kahalgaon. This bridge will be constructed between Bhagalpur and Sahebganj.
