I'd like to know your thoughts behind ship and aircraft design. You may be more experienced than me but in the time I played I sacrificed speed to maximize firepower, anti air capability, armor and aircraft carrying capacity, to the point where my battleships and carriers were capped at 20 knots, while using bulked up light cruisers with a top speed of 27 knots to protect them from submarines, provide additional cover and to litter the ocean with massive torpedo spreads. As for aircraft, I also sacrificed speed to maximize weaponry, bombing ability and armor, depending on the role of the plane in question. The way I see it, I think the best defense early on is to create a submarine design with a large torpedo loadout, despite it having a slow speed of 5 knots. As far as I know, unless the enemy fleet has submarines, destroyers or light cruisers that have torpedoes or mines, your subs will be invincible. Even if your airfields may be destroyed, the attacker still can't win if they can't sink your subs. Your thoughts? Thanks.

I appreciate your comments! I have some experience of the ship, little of aircraft designs. I like your design methods. It's real for early game to make the campaign time shorter. I know for sure that method will work great for Germany and Japan playthroughs. I personally haven't design the battleships and aircraft carriers yet. I can give a try for Germany and Japan. Also try out the aircraft designs for Germany and use the Japanese plane designs. It's pretty funny you can use the designs from USA and Britain when you play as the Axis side. I haven't tried the submarine method yet. Sounds great and funny they can't find your submarines.
