Some tips. Keep you phone lying down for youtube videos. A tripod costs only $ 5 on Goodwill. Keep kind little far that we can have panoramic view. Detail as much as you can for your viewers so that you can make it more interesting. Good luck.

Hi Logan, I just watched your great, short but pertinent video about the MAP sensor fix for the 2009 Sonata, best help I've found so far regarding the P0106 error code. After cleaning it, I reset the code with my OBD2 and the engine light stays off during initial drive (I drove for about 10 miles with no issues, then parked it). But minutes later, just after restarting the car for a second test drive, the engine light comes back on with the same old P0106. Does it mean the problem is still there and that resetting/driving won't help? I've been through this cycle already twice with the same results. A visual inspection of the sensor does not reveal any damage. I must say that I did not take the entire intake manifold out, as I'm not sure it's related (but maybe it is, please tell me). I've only taken the MAP sensor at after seeing where it is on your video. I agree that was quite easy in itself. Btw, I did not have any errors until I left the car sit for a few weeks while I was away, and the battery died during my absence. Many people with 2009 Sonatas have said online that it could be a temporary computer bug that can easily be reset by removing the battery negative for a few hours, but I've reset it a dozen times and it's still throwing the P0106. So let me ask you this, simply: Does the fact that the P0106 code come back after being reset with the OBD2 mean that there really is a problem (possibly with the sensor), and that I should not bother driving the car for 50 miles just to see if it will eventually go away on its own ? Thank you so much, I'm getting desperate as I'm due for a smog check and I'd rather avoid taking it to a mechanic...

I just had this code come up so I did a little research. I read that sometimes this is caused by disconnecting your battery as I did. The first thing you should do is clear the code and see if it comes back.

ATG and I tell many people that removing or disconnecting the battery & then do an install will get you a Check Engine Light P0106. If you don't a OBD2 Code Reader, just go to car parts store & they can clear it for you. Or get hit $350 at the shop. ATG suggests if vehicle is over 4.3 years or 86K+, clean the MAP Sensor & Mass Air Flow & Throttle. This will save you $545.00+ from going to the dealerships.

I just replaced my MAP sensor a couple of weeks ago and recently code P0106 just came on! Could it be that i have to check/clean my intake manifold? Great video.
@RApiiDfireMONKEY5 жыл бұрын
Yes and clean the throttle body and it should go right away. The two 09 hyundais I own that had this code both were fixed from cleaning the map sensor and throttle body

Thank you. Ill do that right away. Will update once done. Fyi, got a Sonata 2010.

How did you clear the code whenever you replaced it and turned on the car and the check engine light came back on? How did you clear it or did it just come off while driving? Sorry if that doesn't make sense I'm going nuts trying to figure this problem out
@RApiiDfireMONKEY4 жыл бұрын
Clear it after repair . If you don't have a code reader go to autozone have them clear it ot order a little portable OBD2 READER
@RApiiDfireMONKEY4 жыл бұрын
Only way its coming off is if it was repaired and the code is deleted with a obd2 reader

Your video is all over the place, you don’t even stay exactly what kind of sensor it is. And whenever you remove any electronic part you are supposed to disconnect the battery. Then replace the sensor. Then reconnect the battery. That’s why you still had the check engine light because you never disconnected the battery while you were replacing the sensor. Because I am an expert in auto parts I know that it was the map sensor that you were replacing. But the rest of the folks here may not have known that
