the mistake people often make is they compare old days environment with today environment people live more today not only because of the advance in medicine but also because of the safer environment we are in compare to those days its easier for you today to find clean water inside your house no need to walk miles to the rivers (and sometimes you may not find it), easy access to food you don't need to walk in the middle of 70° desert for days or weeks leaving your family without protection to hunt your food in an empty desert that has less food , it easier today to gain money , to rent , more security , technologies ... extra at those days if you don't die from sickness or starvation or sunstroke or dehydration you may die to a bunch of Bandits or criminals raiding your village and killing everyone there .. so making it to the 30's / 40's+ was like a top tier level only survival people reach it therefore it make sense that the marriage age was lower then today's standards

I am Somali we have long life spans alhamdulilaah My great grandmother died in 2012 she was 105 my grandmother is still alive she is 92 my mother is 75 she goes hiking in the Mountains of Somaliland without losing breath. It is lifetime of drinking camel milk and eating organic foods. The brother should not generalise about Africa. Very disappointed 😞

I think brother Adnan made a mistake on getting married below the age determined by secular law. Just get married Islamicly then when at that age you can go authenticate, register or "get married" in secular government for documentation. That way we uphold Islamic law above human law, and help our children/brothers and sisters avoid zina avoid haram and help them build a home and a family.

Not only history is complicated and variegated, morality is very complex. Any form of moral criticisms against Islam are all "subjective". It's all based on emotions and sentiments. There is absolutely no objectively valid moral criticism against Islam or the Prophet. Unless, you can find a permission in the Qur'an or an action of Prophet Muhammad SAW that entails "deliberate" "unreasonable" harm. But, you can't do that, because such incident or law does not exist. Prophet Muhammad SAW as well told us that all forms of harm is impermissible. Hence, it is simply impossible to "objectively" criticize Islam in terms of morality. None of the critics can also criticize the Qur'an nor the cores of Islam because we have been studying them for more than a milenium. All verses in the Qur'an has been studied and pondered by the people of the past and people of today. This tells us that there is absolutely no angle of Islam that can be attacked genuinely.
