Very inspiring! Thanks for taking your time and I’m happy I found this video! I’ve been considering putting a panel like this in my business, but local companies are quoting extortionate prices for the install. I think I might have a go myself. With this video as my guide! Good job!

Hey Kirk, great video! I thought your pacing and delivery of the content was exceptional. You packed a good deal into 14 minutes but you're easy to learn from. Keep it up!

Hello Kirk, thanks for the very helpful video. My boss bought a video van for mobile advertised used from one of the companies that do that exclusively. I am a skilled technician in most all entertainment A/V/L products, but panels, namely the P8 and P10 panels that are now a new part of my responsibilities under my tech hat. I was told to order new panels for some that have gone bad that are not power or ribbon related. I tried to place an order after finding the match to them, but wanted more info from the manufacter that what I found was the same and would work. The person I emailed back n fortth with told me even if I made the order they would not be compatible with our displays. I tried to get more info from that point, but think I was written off as a silly American....idk. You may be able to help as I just got done with your mini coarse and again, thanks. I understand the lifespan of most all LED used for lighting is a long linear fade over a large span of time and putting new panels in a display that has approx 4 to 500 hours use would cause the new ones stand out due to the difference in brightness. Would that possibly be the incompatibility they were talking about? That day I took it to mean that the panels would not output it's part of the whole but I never told him what data protocol we are using or anything software related. In this field what is the standard practice for swapping out a panel or group of panels that have issues? I've only seen panel repairs down to a single pixel and that too was informative as I thought a type of flow soldering process was used in putting one together. Answering the questions I posed would really get me up to speed and I would be able to tell my supervisor why we havent ordered the panels I was given the ok to get. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and have a better than average day. Dan

Different manufacturing batches of panels have different tolerances. It is best to have all the panels from the same batch. That will give you the best opportunity to have matching panels. Depending on the content that is playing you may be able to get away with slight differences.

Hi, I'm new to this but been doing a ton of research! I want to build one of these for a DJ set, but want to use it to display video from my DJ software that has a video mixer in it. Does FPP bridged play whatever is on the display or MP4/MKV video files? my software VDJ has a video output mode and what I would like is to send the output video to the matrix via Rasberry Pi to a colorlight module to the matrix. I know they sell a HDMI sender box but that's a bit pricy for me. Is their a software where I can turn the Pie basically into a sender box? Thanks.

Greetings, please I'd like to know how to Cascade the rgb matrix panel vertically?? Thanks in advance.

There appeared to be some flickering of individual LEDs on the right side. Was this the camera acting up or was there an actual problem with the panels. Could a snubber resistor help with the flicker or ghosting between the connector and the panel possibly help with that if that is the case?
@kirkpowell89912 жыл бұрын
This was a camera thing. The panel has no noticeable flicker.

No. I could get away with two but I did not want to push them that hard. I had them available and safe than sorry because where this will be located is very difficult to get to.
