Video from the 7th of May 2024 around Bendigo featuring another SSR wagon transfer from Tottenham Yard to the Bendigo North workshops and back hauled by P18 and T381.
Also outside at the workshops was H3, freshly outshopped from the paint booth in Watco livery but still awaiting the application of decals and branding with this unit seen being shunted alongside XR553 by the resident yard pilot P11.
Trains seen in order are:
9083- P18 and T381
9086- T381 and P18

Nice video mate, certainly no shortage of work going on at Nth Bendigo at the moment, very busy. Will be interesting to see the H's (and the T's) when they are all done and completed

It was renumbered to CVR1. Why was that?
@Greensleeves94
@Greensleeves94 Ай бұрын
Never reclassed as CVR, the CLF classification was done when rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen in 1993 as CLF (F for freight) to distinguish the freight CL's from the passenger CLP's which had HEP units fitted for use on the Ghan and Indian Pacific. As for renumbering, that was simply down to the order in which they were done- CLF1 being formerly CL2. CL6 was the only one to keep its former number as CLF6.

The H classes are almost done with their overhaul. Idk if they'll be sent back to preservation once they arent needed anymore and not scrapped. Why did Watco Australia even purchase the Hs anyways?

They're to replace the remaining D Class units shunting at Port Kembla and to assist the PB's there. H2 and H5 are still a while off yet as neither have been repainted, but I'm not sure if H3 still needs internal work done as well. H1 hasn't even been touched and is still in its part-scrapped state.

What was being used at port Kembla when the H classes were being overhauled?

Same as has been there since Watco took over there- T373 and the PB's inherited from PN as well as a couple of remaining D Class English Electrics

Chatty little bird at the start of P18, a baby parrot? Too much black on H3, maybe the company logos will relieve that. Are they the Manildra Group loco's those Freight Australia "T" class? Good collection there young Brad.

That's them Dave, haven't been touched yet so far as I can tell but they've got a pile on their plate out at North Bendigo even before they rocked up. Wouldn't count on the logos breaking up the black on H3 by much if the T's in WA are anything to go by.

@@Greensleeves94 Good to see they have plenty of work at the workshops, it will not end as the old loco's age. Those Manildra "T" class on broad or standard gauge bogies? They could have been done at Junee Railway Workshops if on standard gauge bogies already.

They were all on BG bogies when Manildra got them, wonder if the BG wheelsets will find themselves under SSR's T/P fleet when they're done with?
