I just want to thank you all for the amazing content and how involved you all are in the FtK community! I have a "few" questions that I think would be cool to answer next video: Q1: Sanctum tier list? Q1.1: Is there a decision making process behind who gets which sanctum? Q1.2: If you chose a 'less desirable' sanctum early, would you consider intentionally breaking it and upgrading later? Q2: Herb tier list / priority list? Q2.1: Are there any herbs that simply aren't worth purchasing? Q2.2: Are there any herbs that you would forego using and instead sell? Q3: At what point do you consider purchasing armor? Q4: When shopping in the night market, what are you looking for? Q5: Where do mimics fall in terms of enemy difficulty? Q5.1: If you do not have an identify scroll, do you skip chests? Q6: Do you consider purchasing scrolls? or are they simply a luxury?

We appreciate the kind words. It’s been a lot of fun collaborating with Sheldon and Mike. Thanks for the questions, hopefully we will get more posts like this. We will make sure to address all of your questions in episode 3, which we are hoping to stream around 12:30 cst. on Monday. If we are able to do so, the video should be up by Wednesday.

I guess my biggest question is, how hard does the game punish you for taking your time (aside from chaos). What happens as the days progress? e.g., inflation, enemy level, etc

Leaving aside chaos, which is the main problem. The two biggest time crunches are 15 days after the Glittering Mines and 15 days after Mings Maze. That impacts inflation and level of side quests.

I’ve had this game for 6 months, and played it once for maybe an hour. Due to the intricacies of how it works, it required a bit more of a planned approach to be successful, rather than just rushing in, like can be done in many rpgs. These guides definitely give great advice in that regard. One thing I wonder, and maybe there is a video about this, but is there a recommended order of priority for unlocking things from the Lore shop? I have very few points so far, but would it be recommended to go straight for class unlocks, or certain gear/locations???

@@chadcaughmann7898 Sorry for the extremely late reply. Probably not helpful at this point... but... I've given this advice to others in the past with respect to Lore Store unlocks. There are items in the Lore store that are more useful than others. If your available Lore is precious... and you want to know what I would recommend you unlock first... this is my list. Lore Store unlock priorities - Items: Razor; Goat Wizards Staff; Wahldar's Wrath; Boots of Might; Hildebrant's Reserve; Inferno Armor (if available). Locations: Night Market; Alluring Pool; Kraken Ward. Encounters: Pipe Smith. After that, continue to get all the Locations Statues and Sanctums, and all the Encounters. For Items, continue with Princess Hat; Aegis of Husher; Royal Crown; Royal Bow, Sias, Immunity Amulet. Keep in mind that the more items you unlock the more those items will pollute your loot drops. So only unlock the ones you really think are worth it. I don't recommend unlocking Royal Hammer (as it never appears in game. Some kind of glitch).

I really like your videos! Question: I'm playing the game with my mate. Just the two of us. Can we finish the game with 2 characters? We keep dying in Parid but this video really helped a lot already!

Nice! I tried a few runs with one and got to Kings Maze so I’m pretty sure you can do two. I would go Gladiator and Hunter, for fast DPS...if you don’t have gladiator, honestly Hunter/Hunter. I also would make sure you get stun and confuse immunity. Since we haven’t created Ep 3, DONT FIGHT RANDOMS IN GOLDEN PLAINS. There’s a lot more I can say but that’s a start

You can also add a third character and play that. My hubby and I swapped controlling that character. We didn’t know that was an option at first.

Hey GsDadio! I'm fairly new to the game (about 24hrs gameplay) and i'm in love with it. Trying all the classes and modes, unlocking everything. So addiciting! I tried using Strength Busker and loved it. I hear you guys talk alot about Trapper with Talent, can you elaborate on that build? What and why makes it so strong, and better than say a Minstrael?

Trapper much faster than Minstrel and speed is meta. You just need to get good with Talent weapons cause they are supportive in nature

I'm enjoying this series, even though I beat hard mode after reading Mike and Sheldon's guide. I'm curious about a few things from this vid... 1. You guys are ignoring (?) a few pop-up events on the map. There's the thing that looks like a treasure chest in the Golden Plains, and the dig event in the Woods. Curious why you don't visit those. Are they not worth the focus to succeed at the task? 2. I too was surprised at Sheldon's tinder pouch usage! Having Mike use his golden root would have gotten the party almost the same benefit. Surely that would have been a higher value action, given that a tinder pouch is worth several roots/godsbeards?

Since we may not have gotten around to answering these questions on stream... I'll go ahead and answer them here. In general, Sheldon and I avoid ? pop-up events. Here's why! A ? pop-up event could be an unfocusable and unavoidable event for a stat attribute that the character who investigates it isn't good at. Usually a character is only really good in one stat, and just okay in maybe 1 or 2 other stats. There's a much greater chance that the stat of the event is not a match to the character's really good stat. All it takes is for one bad match that is unavoidable and unfocusable to cause a death and end a Master Game run. So for that reason alone we would avoid ? pop-up events. Also, our pathing and strategies as we play are already proven effective (in our minds) so we aren't reliant on lucky event rewards. For us, the risk isn't worth the reward. You will eventually get bad results from ? pop-up events. That's a certainty. The same logic also holds for those Treasure Chests that spawn. Sure it could be lucky loot drops... but it has a 35% chance to be a mimic. That character will be all alone against a mimic... and once again... can end a Master Game run with an untimely death. We don't need the loot.

So what's this scholar busker minstrel team cheese? Is it freezing timeline with group rush/reset? Maybe some restore focus in there?

Yeah, rush rush makes the game easy if you get the weapons. It’s still hard to get to that point.

In the days before Gladiator... there wasn't a 'good' Strength class with speed (Hobo being the closest). Scholar / Busker / Minstrel combined the passives of the entire group to help control the RNG (Distraction and Encourage). Then... giving Scholar speed up to 80+ and using either Rush or V. Tome Reset made the team work. Encourage helped V. Tome succeed on 5 roll checks. Before King's Maze (hence before V. Tome) you could use Starfish Staff on Scholar for the focus restore and either Decent Lute for rush or Theorbo for Resets. Later that Rush can be team rush.

Just want to know, which would you consider a better option? Scholar's Stick where u can do a heavy mage attack for 21 damage max, or a bamboo staff that can bleed and life drain? Both has the same base magic damage. Just popped up in shop, kinda curious to know what is considered a better option :/

So we are going to be provided a detailed list of what is better than what but simply put…Heavy Attack and Splash are top tier abilities compared to life steal and bleed, go with Scholars Stick

I’d love to see a weaker group of characters with pros like yourselves. Lol I’m a real newb. So I have some basic questions. - how do you know you’re going to get focus for a battle and how much? - how do you know what the damage of the enemies weapons are?

Also, is there any value in getting the more expensive boat? I saw y’all went with the midrange but am not sure why.

You can focus by leveling up or inning/meditating at a ton. You usually won't use Golden Roots on regular fights unless it absolutely critical. Knowing the damage from enemies is unfortunately going to take experience...to be honest, I couldn't even tell you that. Just kill them as fast as you can.

@@christinagarrett5815 I typically go with the 90 gold boat. It does make a difference in terms of how many rolls you can get out of the boat. The raft is slower but I don't think the 200 gold boat is worth it. There's also more health to the 90 gold boat vs the raft...just in case you run into problems.

I like to get the 200 boat on comps that have bad boat movement. If you manage to access both mainland level 3 dungeons quickly enough you can easily get to 200 and get the merchant boat. This will then be a nice compensation for the slower boat movement. Really helps with classes like woodcutter, herbalist, monk and, indeed, gladiator - especially if you have more than one of those. Throughtout the game, the boat should easily save you 1-2 full turns, so its nice to have. But yeah, its a bit too expensive in most cases to get it quickly enough to actually *make* it worth it.

I’ve done so many runs on console, that’s mainly what I played on for FTK. Scholar/Busker or Hobo/Trapper is what I run now

@@Specdrums I would need a little bit more context on what you are running Busker as (I'm assuming talent cause you are using Woodcutter or Blacksmith of strength). But choose Trapper for Talent, super fast. Then you can select Busker or Woodcutter for your strength.

Scholar / Busker (Strength) / Minstrel was our (Sheldon and I) go-to team before the Gladiator showed up. The idea with that team was to get the Minstrel the 'speed-down' Broken Lute from the Busker by trading lutes between Busker and Minstrel. The Minstrel's speed is good enough to go first against an early Chaos Camp's Axe cultist. So you'd be able to consistently kill a Chaos Camp without dying. Also... because the Minstrel starts with 10 gold... this team has enough money at the start of the game to instantly buy a Knotted Staff; Lightning Staff; or Dusty Book for the Scholar from the start of the game. Trapper is a faster Talent user. gsdadio pioneered the use of Trapper. If you use a Trapper or Hobo... you have less gold at the start and terrible starting weapons, so teams that have these either need the Gladiator to supply them with a good weapon... or else you're going to have to do some hunting for gold before getting better weapons for these characters. However, once you have good weapons for these faster characters... the rest of the game becomes easier as then these characters are attacking before enemies. One advantage of Busker and Minstrel on the team is the good passive abilities. Distraction and Encourage really are nice to have. are catacombs patched so they are always a higher level than you? found one in golden plains and one in the bog when i was level 2 and 3 but theyre both lvl 5 and there's been no town refreshes. thank you for the videos btw, i learnt a lot

No, there wasn't any patch. It should be level 3 prior to the 15 round refresh. Never heard of that being a bug either.

@@callum105 the catacombs are at level 5 if you haven't beaten the glittering mines yet as this appears to be their "default level". They are levelled down to 3 after the glittering mines and once again levelled up to 5 after the 15 turn refresh.
