yea, i get that, many people do this, however to another way of doing this ( without spending actual money) is to get yourself a captured 1st rate like a L'Ocean , which is a good ship in game :) many people will be after them though making demand high and supply low

Balloon is wonderful for scouting and is just superb for setting up outposts across the map, so I don't regret getting it!

For scouting i always used the free camera option in a rocket ship, hide in a cove and have a look :), never thought it would get any actual use out of a balloon personally but that's just me, I'm aware many people got them when they cam out. I can certainly see the appeal in outpost setting though, that must save some time for sure !

Another great video. Balloon very useful. Rattvisan is excellent. I would say DLC’s are income for the game producers. They don’t do this for free.

yea there is that, but these DLCs have been around well before the game was free to play. I just don't want people wasting their money on things they think they might want :)

I have the Yacht from buying and playing the game back when it was in Beta. I suppose that doesn't help new players, though, as it's not like they can go back in time. Just wanted to mention it in case there are other folks returning to the game, like me, who took a look at the DLC section and went, "Hey, why do I have that thing?"

When this video was posted the Rotterdam was not released yet, would that now be the choice of preference over all other ships and or which ones are comparable? Would you be better off with a trading ship and or combat ship in this sim?

no no , i mean get other ships , the rotterdam is just a armed trade ship , eventhough its hull size is broken , trading in game doesnt happen like it used too , your better off getting a purpose built combat ship your going to use often @@hetalziendoog9484

For New players, dont get the bigger ships , as you cant crew them, get something smaller e.g. learn to sail before you jump in the bigger ships. A herc is a good ship, shallow water , can very fun to sail around in If you looking for something bigger then grab a trinco , its a good all rounder and can be turned into may things. Smaller ships also cost less to replenish in reps and things , keeping you fighting more of the time having fun :)

Santa Anna actualy has differnt cannon load out then Cristian, also leo is not useless its good for group fights and PZ and has amazing cannon loadout Ratt is good for solo open world pvp

iv never owned the santa anna, however i rarely see it floating around, but it was litrally said in game files as christian 2, and looked exactly the same at the time which put many people off. leo is slower now than the ratt where as it used to be the fastest 4th rate D: all ships have their uses , but if i was to choose out of the ratt or the leo it would be the ratt every time

@@invoke4937 ahhh okay, so it has a smaller caliber gun on top, however a higher caliber gun on the middle compared to the Christian . I wonder how that plays with reload times, I reckon overall canon damage wouldn't be too much different as they have the same number of cannons per broadside

DLC ships certainly gives the player the advantage of not having to work as hard to acquire ships in general, however ship to ship stats show that they aren't really over powered in comparison to the other ships in game. Losing ships is all part of this game and I wouldn't get too attached to individual ships too much as they will all be wiped at the end of the season anyway. do you have trouble with losing ships or acquiring new ones ? I could do a video on it if you like ?

You got no idea how nice of brawler L’Hermione is! It lack of Fire power ? Lol not at all 12pounders work as good as 18’s. Compare to trinko its not as fast, but outturn it easly. Smaller and harder to hit target who dont show underbelly so easy to get leaks and die instantly!

looking at stats alone, the Herminie has 17% less broadside firepower, 9% Armor Thickness, and 8% Slower than the Trinco which is a serious deficiency. You are correct however that it the Hermione does turn faster by 14% however the turn acceleration is 17% slower than the trinco meaning it is less responsive. now considering you can get trinco popped out for free it does not seem like good value for money to purchase the hermionie ... which was my conclusion in the video :)

@@MoisTeaGaming its a Russian game so stats are only half of true. You need to sail it and try vs players or npc’s. I tested 2 trinkos difrent woods but speed was only 0,5knots diffrence on paper in battle using manual sails 2knots faster so stats dont say all about ships

@@cypsoon I have sailed it a good number of times before the big patches a few months ago , I did enjoy the curved sides of the ship when combined with high armour which proved very effective however the armour meta is long gone so no longer a viable tactic. You clearly would recommend sailing the ship , however personally I don't beleive this ship is value for money as a dlc which is what this video is about :)

Ehh I'm good I'm happy sailing my Diana. She brawls above her weight class. Can brawl with constitution and United States. Trinco has no rear guns, so if someone gets in your ass, you can't do anything. Which they easily can do, because trinco can't turn. Shoot the sails of the trinco and it takes the only thing it can do which is run. Diana is better than a trinco. Every suggests the ratti over the leopard. But the carronades on the leopard are better, lower 2 sets of long guns and one set of 42lb carronades and the ratti gets destroyed by a broadside from the leopard. You can take down a trinco with a snow... I'm just saying

The Diana has the almost exact same stats as the Trinco, however main point being less fire power ( in pound) however maneuverability and speed are the exact same :). She has a lower profile yes and is nicer to look at however I believe you are out of date on your information. regardless you can happily get Trinco's popped out for you for fun which was the main point. The leopard has a lot less HP , slower and less poundage of cannon as well as thinner armor ( not that that matters that much nower days anyway) which is why in general the rattvisan is considered a superior ship and if they are they same price ( which they were last time i checked) then I would put the rattvisan above the leopard. Yes the Leopard has more carronade capacity which is something to consider depending on your playstyle however the lower speed of the ship can negate that advantage as you wont be able to use said cannons as effectively due top the shorter range. Snows are beasts , no denying that, however that wasn't the point of the video.

@@MoisTeaGaming I guess my play style those work for me I like to brawl, the trinco has a few more guns but it turns so slow compared to non DLC ships. I dont have the docs only what I have gotten in game. For me the Diana is tanker than the trinco. And the leopard carronades just hit harder, especially if you get a grapeshot pass. The entire crew just stops everything. I get the point of the video I'm just saying I don't see any of the DLCs really viable, when you can get them all in game with like an hours work of trading. The max I have found a trinco in health and armor is hull about 5000 most are around 4300. The thickness is only 2 higher, but it sits higher in the water too so can easily be hulled for floods.

@@MoisTeaGaming I would say the ratti and leopard are probably the most viable DLCs if you like them as they are a little rarer in the auction house. But most of these either there is a better ship in game like you said, or you can just buy them in game

I used to be a thick armor, maneuverability and carros build kinda playstyle however that all changed they the changed how everything works. Boarding is much better than it used to be so i like to play this against players ever more so now, many people panic when boarded i can show you a screen shot of the stat similarities with a diana and a trinco if you like ? when F2P kicked off many stats changed to a more generical brand of class rather than individual ships. Yes that is also a point, however that can take time which some people just done want to spend doing, as time has gone on iv acquired most of the DLCs but that was over 5 or 6 years of playing :)

I am a noobie ( 15 hours of playtime), but looking on paper the stats of it make it the worst 4th rate ship for combat, even some 5th rates seem to have higher damage potential, but probably best in game for cargo. Which made me slightly turn away form it and I am right now thinking about rattisvan, since I just want best all arounder jack of all trades ship which I could main till end game, but by the time I reach the crew required for it maybe I will change my mind@@MoisTeaGaming

iv got over 2000 , i spend a lot of time on this when my wrist was broken XD The rotterdam was suppost to be a armoured trader, so i cant imagine it being great for combat but actually have some sting at least , this ship was suppost to have been implemented into the game years ago, and with the safe zones almost makes it irrelevant as a replacement to the indianmen. The ratisvan is a nice ship , the stats have all changed since i did this video but the rattisvan is a good all rounder , ill have to do a updated video @@mattin5850

it got the highest cargo size the indianmen are 4k basic cargo , rotterdam is 12k! It a trader indiamen but 3 times the cargo and can go higher with perks so on sale for tradings it not bad to get.

the dlc are so hilariously overpriced its not even funny anymore. and with it being not p2w because you can get better ships ingame though normal means there is no reason to buy a dlc ship at all... i mean you can get aaa titles for the same amount of money or less...

Your on point there. The main reason I beleive anyone would purchase a dlc ship is just for ease and saving time. However like you said the price is on the extreme side. The vic dlc for 50 quid ... when you can get a captureed ocean which is overall better is beyond me. Value for money certainly isn't there , however if they made then op then that is also wrong on many levels. Just a good price reduction would be nice and make it viable on all the dlcs

It's a kind of pay to win. Normaly you'll spend a lot of time and effort to have a good ship. But with DLC, there is no more difficult. No more fear to loose your ship. DLC ships are made for cowards. Devs used the fear to make money, nice strategy. What a shame for a game with a lot of potential.

dlc ships will never be as good as a proper crafted ship, you can get capped ships which are better then DLC ships. in which case if your too scared to lose ships all the time I would recommend using some capped ships and just getting stuck in. The really good proper ships I have I use for certain things as they are purpose built e.g. wolf pack hunting or PB ship, which i will spend more time and money on. saying DLC is for cowards is calling half the server a coward and I don't think that is the case by any means.

And you Can craft a DLC ship with any wood. It's not easy for little nation to have the best wood and no one can capture those ship. So if you are not afraid don't play with DLC ship for a month

@@Mike-nv6qr that's incorrect as well Personally iv often spent millions on a shallow water 5th rate and thrown it in the patrol zone with others. Woods are easy to aquire now as ai traders smash them out everywhere in ports for so much cheaper than it used to be. Including seasoned woods. When was the last time you played ? I often choose not to use the dlc ships if I have others available Personally. I like to capture plenty of ships , keep the nicer ones and sell the rest :)
