trying to learn savage fresh, and it's just... super overwhelming. feels discouraging even just trying to follow the guide. but this was the least overwhelming of the few i've looked at so far, so thanks. idk if i'm cut out for this.

Best advice I can give as a fellow newbie is to hit party finder in practice mode, and just discuss whatever mechanic wiped your party before starting the next attempt!

@@strassboom2612 Been trying to do that, but people really seem to not want to team up with beginners. Best case scenario, I got a party up, and people left after 20 minutes because we struggle with the first few mechanics.

@@bekomon sometimes it can depend on the day and time (monday at 11am vs friday at 8pm). People but so long as the community remains friendly (enough) there will always be new people to each raid.

@@bekomon i did all the ew ex's last 2 days to get started with the endgame content and my pf learning groups have been pretty good so far. had 1 person on both days who left in endsinger ex and storms crown ex after the wirst wipe but apart from that i had patient helpers and learnwilling newbies and we did endsinger after only 3 wipes. storms crown took us acutally a lot more wipes but after around 80 minutes we did it and the whole group stayed together for the full 80 minutes :D

My first stint into Savage was 6.1. before that, I had never raided in that degree of difficulty in FF. I cleared before next teir release. You can too. The hardest part is cutting your teeth. You have to dive in and get a few firsthand runs yourself. Once you do, the rest will follow. Have faith. Good luck.

BTW, make sure you fire your knockback mitigation _at least one full server tick (300ms) ahead_ of the dash, or it won't go off in time and you'll be dead in the goop outside the arena with your mitigation countdown ticking down. Savage encounters are remarkably unforgiving of not compensating for FFXIV's tremendously large server tick interval, and a cast going off a fraction of a second late might as well not be cast at all.

I feel it should be stated you cannot invlum the tank busters as the poison debuffs do stack and will basically kill you once your invlums fall.

Yes you can, or at least dark knight can. I have done it multiple times to attempt to save a run.

I’m watching this and my heads turning but back in the day I did savage and it was a breeze. Once you watch this, play it and play it and play it and watch this and play it and watch this they’ll be a day when others are the one who don’t know the fight. Short story long it becomes so easy once you get used to every mechanic.

Watching this even if I've already cleared it. In JP DC PF we usually go to the quadrant diagonal to the one with 3 crystals on Ruby Glow 6 but it seems you can choose any of the other ones as long as they are 2 crystals.
