Hello from Germany! The bakery items here are fantastic but that recipe looks just as good as anything I've seen here. Well done Helga.

I remember my Gram making the Donuts, on Fachnaut day. My job was shaking the donuts in paperbags, one with powdered sugar and the other was cinnamon sugar. Thank you for the reminder of a sweet memory.

Oh boy Fat Tuesday! I’m not a church person, but I like Pancake Day and since I’m in North East West Virginia I should get with the culture and have donuts.

Loved these as a kid growning up in Berks! We never made,though, always from a bakery. Our method was to slice open plain ones and pour in some Turkey syrup.....

Great recipe. I've never made donuts, so think I'll actually buy mine. Years back I read one of the reasons we enjoy donuts and pancakes on Shrove Tues is to use up eggs.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. They look similar to Pączki that the Poles make this time of year.

Cousins. Paczki dough has butter and milk and other ingredients and are filled. These aren't and only have a few ingredients. All good!

Those are potato doughnuts. I make those also, but they are not yeast raised doughnuts. Still delicious though! Just not as light!

Can you freeze this dough?
@PennsylvaniacookingBlogspot10 ай бұрын
Yes. ou can easily freeze yeast doughnut dough. Make the dough, cut it into doughnut circles, and let it proof, then freeze the doughnuts, in a single layer, until solid. Wrap each doughnut in a double layer of plastic wrap or place a bunch of them in a plastic freezer bag.
