Used to play this and other James Swearingen compositions back in high school in jr high and high school about 15 to 20 years ago. Oh my gosh did I start geeking out while listening to this. There were three works by Swearingen that all centered around the same basic melody and chord patterns. As a trumpet player in middle school and also high school bands in the late 80s, early 90s, I played all three and LOVED them. Invicta, Majestia, and Centuria.

Invicta certainly is a memory for me. I played it my Freshman year on Flute, read it on piccolo my sophmore year, and played it on Bass Clarinet for Junior year. It's a favorite with my band director. As is "Of Pride and Celebration."
