Personally, I would prefer they do this practice, over the self-flagellation that other people do during Holy Week. Their act of penance is much more silent and humble

They are a fascinating localisation of a Spanish practise, and the living memory of older penitential practises. The Klan ripped off these robes of humility and penance for their wicked and godless hatred of other human beings. They are the opposite of the love Jesus showed by His Passion and Death on the Cross that the Tais-Dupol mystically share in with their annual vow of penance. Hoping this tradition spreads and grows for both its cultural and historical value.

Ikalat itong tradisyon nato sa buong bansa, nanood ako ng ibang videos pagdating sa Semana Santa at nalaman ko na common ito sa South America at syempre sa Spain. Iadopt ito sana ng mga penitentiary confraternities dito sa bansa. Nagsimula sa Spanish Inquisition at kumalat sa buong Espanya, kahit ang Portugal, Southern France, and Italy ay may ganito ring tradisyon.

I am not surprised about this traditions as I have seen it many times on KZbin particularly that of the Holy week traditions in Andalucia ,Spain, it is so rich in culture that in some parts of the Philippines that traditions from Andalucia, Spain has been adopted. It's so sad for me as a citizen from PALO, LEYTE that all around the world, including our fellow Filipinos from other parts of the Philippines trying to discriminate and criticized our hometown's culture without trying to do their research and just being ignorant. Such ignorance. They do it Spain during holy week. Since you have access to you tube, try to enlighten yourself and look for Holy Week in Malaga. Malaga is one of the places in Spain, not a fish. They wear this during Good Friday through Black Saturday.
