I'm a grade 8 student but this is the course I thought would be a teacher. I want to be a teacher in another country, I suddenly became interested in becoming a teacher and I was always searching for how to become a teacher in another country. teacher is my most last choice that I think I could pass and I could do. case I don't know how to start and I'm not smart at school. I'm still young so I still have a lot to learn but this is really my plan to be a teacher because this is the last one to survive in my future. but I'm not that good at teaching and I'm also not good at English and math and I'm also shy and nervous to speak in front of a lot of people. Sorry I have a couple of questions . - How are the students there? Are they respectful? - Will we have issues with racism there? - How many students in a class? - How many lessons do you teach in a week? How many minutes in a lesson. I'm also a teacher/nurse :) took units in Ateneo de cagayan de oro - Xavier University but unfortunately we didn't have practicum just the basic units which allowed us to take the board. Would that mean I need to have a practicum? I do have experience in teaching for about 7 years (school based)

Hi Cloudzs, thank you for asking. 🙂 In your case po, you mean graduate ka ng Bachelor of Nursing and took Methods of Teaching for 18 units? Meron po ako 18 units na tinake sa ECE galing dn AdNU pero hindi po nila inaasses kasi daw kulang yung hours and units na needed. Yung Bachelor Degree in Teaching po ang pagbabasehan ng Teachers Council- opo with practicum- experience in teaching.. Meron din po akong kakilala na kahit hindi LET passer ay nkakuha ng lisensya.

Hi Loubert, I would say Yes, in my opinion if you meet their requirements in teaching English. However, as English is not our 1st language I think you need to take short course for Teaching English. Please always check the requirement with the council as they always make changes in their policy requirements. Thank you.

Thank you for asking and thank you for kind words. 🙂 The Practicum is the Practice of Teaching being done in an approved school institution after you have completed all the major subjects in Education curriculum. In other terms similar to other profession, OJT or On Job Training. *Masters Degree is not a requirement. But if you have, you can definitely add it to your list of qualification. 😊

Recommendation or Letter of Reference is different from Certification of Practicum. Providing Certification of your Practicum is highly recommended separate from the recommendation as it will serve as your evidence to what NZ have - the "Graduating Standard." In your case, I would suggest you can ask a person in-charge in Department of Education where you graduated and ask for that certification OR request from the Registrar Office from where you graduated. For more relevant information, please visit the website of the New Zealand Qualification Authority and the Teaching Council of NZ. You can also email them about your queries and they generously replied to email. 😊

Hi Mark.🙂 Wala po akong job offer nung nag aapply palang ako ng NZQA, but I worked as casual reliever sa mga ECE centres and worked as Hotel Cleaner during Saturdays. When I got my registration, I had 2 job offers. Also, yang job offer na tinatawag dito is yung "FULL- TIME and PERMANENT working status", this is very important when you applied visa. Thank you. Hi Mark! Thank you for asking. Ang job offer binibigay ng employer. Paano? Una syempre mag hahanap ka ng trabaho. Mag aapply ka and so on. Kapag nahire ka, yung employer mo bibigyan ka ng job offer (job contract). So dapat you are working in that company for full time with specific requirements from immigration for applying work visa (like salary amount, status and condition of work). Actually, once may lisensya ka galing dito you can apply skilled work visa kahit late na yung job offer, yun nga lang risky sya ngayon gawin dahil sa pandemic. At you need to do more research at the same time dahil pabago bago ang nga policies dito. If I have more time, I will do vlog regarding this question. Once again, salamat. God bless. Be safe.
