I came across this video on Instagram, was so intrigued, am a Filipina, yet Joshua is more fluent in Tagalog than I, am not from the South, so I speak another dialect, but worked in Manila for 16 years, still baruk pa rin ung tagalog ko! Am currently in Taiwan, working for a yar,but am planning to work in Korea, hence, am trying to learn Korean, and Joshua's advice is the best, I should start from the basics, learning Hangeul. I self-learned how to read and write korean alphabet back when I was highschool. 9yrs ago.. but I still remember them til now & I can somehow understand simple sentences or few lyrics of kpop songs. I learned the alphabet in high school, and every time I see a Korean word I always try to read the word. That's why even though I stopped learning the vocabulary or sentence structure, I can still read Hangeul.

While watching and listening to you…, I feel motivated…, you speak Tagalog as if you’re a native speaker…, mahilig ako manood ng kdrama dahil entertaining, mahusay ang pagkakagawa at di ka maiinip panoorin pati yung mga OST nila masarap pakinggan…, ang problema lang, di ko masyadong maintindihan😊😅, buti na lang may English sub…, so while pinanonood kitang nagsasalita ng Tagalog…, napahanga ako. I'm an online ESL teacher and learning Korean would be very useful for my job. Ang hirap makipagcommunicate sa beginner students lalo na't zero english talaga. Aside from students, there are times that we have to talk to the parents as well. And some of them are not comfortable speaking in english. The reason kung bakit gusto kong mag.aral ng Korean language is to work in Korea. To earn money to support myself, to be free to do what makes me happy. I'm 34 yrs old, and still single. Untill now I still nothing, I don't have saving, permanent job and income. That's why everyone arounds me including my family always think I'm failure. Before I always do what my family decide me to do, to say and not to do, because that's what makes them happy. I give to them what I have, even anothing left to me. But one time I decided what I want to do, what makes me happy and to stand on my own, but I failed. That's why I do again what they want even I'm not happy. But this time I want to prove to myself and to everyone that I can just trust me. I starting doing what they what and what I want. That's the reason why I like to work in Korea, because I want to be free and to do my dream. Sorry I'm to emotional.

I‘ve been interested in Korea since I was in grade school/elementary and now I'm in College(2nd year). I started loving Korea because of Kdrama and Kpop. Way back in my 9th grade in high school, I started learning the Korean alphabet but I give up and now I wanted to learn again because I just wanted to learn and watch Kdrama without subtitles.🤗

ive learned the korean alphabet in 2017 and i was in the 8th grade at that time. then learned how to write and read however i stopped learning it bcoz i was focussing with my studies and i find the language hard to learn. recently, im learning again by memorizing the vocabulary, reading it lil bit faster and the sentence structure. i hope I'd be able to master this language this year so i won't be struggling when having this subject next year.

One of the main reasons why I really wanted to learn Korean is bcoz of "BTS" so that everytime they talk, I can understand. And also, I wanted to visit in Korea someday if were given a chance. If I know how to understand their language and able to speak it, I able to interact with them.

Reason for wanting to learn Hangul: 1. I’m a huge Kpop fan! 2. I like Korean culture 3. I’d like to be able feel closer with said culture & my Korean friends! I am a biggest fan of the K-pop Industry, that means I like to watch K-pop idols. So, the main reason why I want to learn the Korean language or Hangeul is so that I can understand my K-pop idols so that I don't need subtitles anymore when I'm watching them. And another reason is that I dream of going to South Korea one day, gusto ko kasi na kapag nakapunta na ako sa South Korea ay marunong na ako mag speak and understand the Korean language, so I can communicate with Koreans easily. And I have found the fun and the interest of Hangeul so I want to learn. It's like fun to learn to speak and understand the Korean language. As for me, I just want to learn to speak, understand, and type Hangeul, but it also looks good to learn to read Hangeul. Sana nga makaya ko talaga makapagaral ng Hangeul, gagawin para sa mga asawa kong Koreano HAHAHAHAHA Maybe this vacation is the first step to start learning Hangeul. Starting with mastering the Korean Alphabet! Fighting Korean Learners!
