Usually drag queens do not have genuine great voices. But Pabllo Vittar has a beautiful voice plus a great presence.

I think is less about that specific group of people not having grest voices and more about the need to have their own song to perform to (which means even the not vocally-skilled performers would have to do it).

Now, there are vocalists who happen to do drag like Miss Pabllo. Anyway, I think is really dope how Brazil's music scene is doing some major things and these gals can approach a mainstream audience, have feature with regular singers and become a solely music brand unlike in any other country.

The tilte of the song it's a word play. Triste com T translate to Sad with capital S. But the way we say capital T is "tesão" that literally translated is something like big T , but tesão also means horny... Genius!

Explaining Pabllo Vittar to foreigner (not-Brazilian) gays: 1. Her music is not simply “pop”, it’s a mixture of pop with regional Brazilian music from the northeast (it’s a speciality of Brazilian music the mix different rhythms), that’s why it’s so unique. (Plus info: we call these rhythms generally as “brega”, which means “corny” or “cheesy” - rhythms that usually are not considered sophisticated or of good taste by music critics). So, blending pop music with “brega” is to make it fun and funny - and by the end it sounds really fun and funny, cause it doesn’t intend to be “high music”, “high pop”. It’s no pretentious. 2. Her outfits/looks are not her strong point, that’s true. But again: she doesn’t intend to reach “RuPaul” standard of outfits. She’s not pretentious. She intends to look exatctly “corny”, “campy”… sexy and not high fashion at all. Again: it’s to be fun and funny. And yet, she looks gorgeous. That’s why she’s a star in Brazil. She opened doors for queer artists/singers in Brazil. The first drag queen to achieve success in music. Now there’s a whole scene of queer singers in Brazil (drag queens, trans women, gays), thanks to her. PABLLO VITTAR IS A GODDESS IN BRAZIL. And she’ll sing in the concerts that will happen January 1st to celebrate the begging of Lula’s president elected government (leftist pro-LGBT, to replace incumbent neo-fascist far-right wing president Bolsonaro). Long live to Pabllo Vittar!

This new album is all made with rhythms from the north and northeast of Brazil, specifically Forró, Tecnomelody and Calypso, the first three songs including 'Triste com T' (sad and horny) are based on Forró and the rest of the album on Tecnomelody and Calypso. I did not watch the whole length of the video but the "sad, sad and horny" makes a lot of sense in portuguese because it has a double meaning. Triste com T could mean that she's very sad, with a capital S, but it can also mean that she's sad and horny because horny translates to "tesão", the portuguese word for horny and sounds exactly as we say "capital T".
