Can’t let this one fade into obscurity. The skating rinks of ‘79 used to rock it.

Pablo Cruise was a big part of the soundtrack to my life as a teenager growing up in Hawaii🤙🏽

In my mind, this was a huge hit when it came out because I played this album constantly. In the mind of the record-buying public, unfortunately, not so much. It is an awesome song that continues to inspire me.

I thought it reached #10 on Billboard. I see it hit #19. In my opinion, 1979 had more great songs than any other year. So there was a lot of tough competition.

@@citygirl5705 1979 was pretty much the final year where it seemed like everyone who was trying had an excellent shot of being signed to a label (even many artists on independent labels were having success) and having at least a hit or two as as there was a wide variety of music being played and an open-mindedness to it. I will never forget it-it was a very exciting time for a young music lover like myself (attended my first concert in summer 1979, btw!).

I just found an ancient promotional album of this song hidden since 1979 in my basement at the former A&M Records. #score
