What about the University of Hawaii? That makes way more sense than any other teams Hawaii is actually connected to Pacific ocean (PAC-ific 12)

Hawaii is joining the Mountain west as a full member and agreed to stay in the conference until at least 2026.

Financially I don’t think it has a great upside.

One of the biggest reasons why the 5 programs are leaving the MWC is because there are a number of remaining programs that simply aren't investing in athletics. Hawaii is playing in a "temporary" stadium that only seats 17K and was supposed to be out of it by last season. They have a new stadium approved but it's projected in the 25K range for seating and TV Viewership isn't great. Add in the overall poor performance of Hawaii in revenue sports for more than a decade and there just isn't much upside.

Stanford and cal can still be pulled out and the pac 12 would do anything

Cal and Stanford would rather go independent than even think about being in the same conference as any Mountain West school or any other school they deem academically inferior.

Very funny - the "weakest" teams are from the TOP of the Mountain West.

Sorry, but this list is (1) completely ludicrous (2) the PAC is in zero jeopardy, the MWC is in tremendous jeopardy (3) the PAC isn’t looking at FCS schools. (4) do your research.

Why not FCS Teams?
@Roman-wx7ur29 күн бұрын
Because FCS teams can’t just jump to FBS. There is a vetting and acceptance process that takes at least 2 years by the NCAA. FCS teams like Sac State are good to grow the conference but are not the answer to meet the minimum 8 football participating universities
@M_11_m41n20 күн бұрын
We already have enough FBS teams. We don't need to dilute the FCS even more.
