Sometimes I really wonder why people hate this game so much compared to DX+.

Because it's really different, in how ghosts work (collisions eat up a lot of time and if you are not used to catching up ghosts, it will be very frustruating, since you have to specifically eat a head), in how bombs work (now it resets you instead of ghosts, which is worse because you have to get back to where you were), in how fruits work (escaping fruit, which is really frustruating at times; as well as skipping pellets, which gets dropped after first 10 waves - you could go out of sync in DX+, but you could progress - not anymore) Oh, and also mazes with their new 3D skins look very bland. Dig Dug skin in DX+ looked like legitimate Dig Dug board refitted for Pac Man - here it looks like lego set assembled in "sorta-kinda-almost" Dig Dug fashion, with barely any style. In fact, I would say that only boards that don't look mediocre are classic Pac Man boards

its funny cause I really love the changes they made in this game and once you get used to it all the changes they made make sense. It encourages you to really understand the map layout and ghosts patterns and Nothing really slows you down (Expect the hollow ghosts on the single train courses which are something I legitimately dislike) The ghosts can be easily manipulated during the power pallet phase or at least I've been able to do that. The bombs are more for useful for moving on to the next stage then getting out of a sticky situation which is something I honestly prefer because slowing down cause you used a bomb in DX sucked. The moving fruit is something I admit to being kinda pointless cause most of the time you can just easily get it by going above it and quickly turning right and it happens so fast that the fruit might as well be standing still. The power pellets require more effort to get but not that much depending on the stage. As for the stage themes being bland I guess I can see where you're coming from but I always used the minimal ones in DX so it doesn't bother me. Also the soundtrack in 2 is just much stronger overall then in DX

How the bombs work now (it's possible to throw yourself in to another ghost hovering at spawn trying to avoid a ghost) and the stages can get a bit hectic makokng it easy to lose Pac man at times or keeping an eye on the ghosts.

I've never run into a situation where I bomb jump into a ghost before, I'd assume you'd be invincible for like a second after the bomb jump but I guess not. And things being hectic is nothing new to the PacMan CE series and I admittedly still lose sight of pacman for a second even after playing these games for years.

happened way to many times to me. you don't have invincibility frames when you land. try jumping next time a ghost is there. and while the previous game also was chaotic. you didn't need to worry about bounce pads throwing you around the map. there are lines. but they are very thin and when at max speed are hard to notice with either a distracting map palette or running away from a ghost. only to bump into another ghost pushing you into the one that made you angry. the bomb use to be able to send the ghosts to spawn. you jump to spawn and have to trace to where you were. to me they went outright backwards with some things. i'm glad you didn't have trouble with the bombs. but i've died way too many times because of the bombs. and i've played PCE since the original release. i think it's okay. but a big step down from the predecessor. i love the music and i like the brake feature. honestly the break saved me more than the bounce
