Thanks so much, its so fun living vicariously through you on this hike. I am in a wheelchair and the PCT is way above my difficulty level! Its amazing to get to see places I would never be able to get to. Keep up the awesomeness!

So glad we got some snow out here. The entire Sierra Range from Northern Cal to where you were at got some. Really glad you are showing a lot of Southern Cal on the trail. Most of the PCT videos seem to just skim over it. Thanks !

Idyllwild is something else. A few buddies and I did an overnight trip the last weekend in April along the 7 Pines to PCT to Mt. San Jacinto and the weather pinned us at the Little Round Valley campground that you pass along the way around 9200' prohibiting us from going all the way up to the peak. The 5 hours of rain turned into snow once we hit camp. Woke up the next morning with 2-4"+ of snow up there, definitely a first for my backpacking tales. Good luck out there, looking forward to keeping up with you along the way.

Red Beard - obviously the PCT is at crazy high altitudes compared to the AT, did you have any altitude related issues so far? Keep up the hiking and happy trails dude! - Six
@muleyscousin62589 жыл бұрын
Nice going, I was getting concerned because it6's been a while since your last update. It the winds get calm, and you see a low grey cloud over LA, it's smog. It usually is an afternoon occurrence, but I've know it to last for days until the ocean breeze cleared it out, and I've had pilots from March AFB repot tops as high as 5,500 feet. Enjoy, because sooner or later, you get old, and your knees won't let you.

Great video. Are you using the same Z Pack Duplex tent on this trip? If so, how is the material holding up. You reported some slight wear in a previous AT video. Will it last through your PCT trip?

Hey Redbeard! I was wondering how you find the time to do thru-hikes? Do you have a seasonal job and save up for it? I want to thru hike once I am older, but I have no idea when I will be able to spare the time and money. It looks super beautiful!

Do you find the switchbacks are a godsend or a time waster?
@vangorn14836 жыл бұрын
You must be from the East coast where they just go up and over the hills and small mountains and build a shelter every 10 miles. Imagine being at 6000' or 7000' elevation and having to climb to 10,000' or higher over scree and talus. You are going to have to have switchbacks, monotonous or not.
