I'm 67 and just got the P750k plan and it cost P53,000. Also with this plan you are entitled to a very comprehensive annual physical exam with no out of pocket expense.

protect your assets. get the best insurance you can get. I have the pacific cross blue royal plan A ($500,000) $2000/ year with $5000 deductible. it includes international travel.

I would definitely go for a private room. The main reason to be self-insured is less paperwork and insurance hassles. What is of interest to me is medical tourism and air ambulance service to neighboring countries like Singapore and Taiwan.

I have Pacific Cross here in Thailand. I don’t know if Philippine PC has the exact same products but I will assume they are similar. I approach expat insurance in Asia with a different philosophy. I purchased a comprehensive policy with a large deductible. I would prefer to pay routine health care costs out of pocket and save the insurance for big serious health events. The large deductible will lower the cost. I bought my PC policy at age 62 and they will continue to cover me past age 70 but of course the premiums will increase.

This topic is sad. My current employer/employee policy costs $18,000.00 per year for BC/BS here in the US. I would gladly pay $1000 to $1500 for Pacific Cross private plan. My only concern, is that Pacific Cross is known to not payout or looks for loopholes not to reimburse.

Good topic Steve I'm going with Pacific Cross Select plan private room so around $50 ISD a month I can handle that for $1,500,000 PHP a year that's a lot for someone like me who is only 41 and have no health issues whatsoever. By the time 60 comes around the COLA adjustment over the years will have offset the increased rate at that point but that's a long way down the road to even be thinking about at this point to be honest. Take care

Good topic, but why did you stop at age 65? Many are older than 65.

Figure $100 month for a good plan. I would still use the 48 peso/$1.00 for the exchange rate as a safety margin. I wouldn't rely on occasional spikes in the exchange rate and 48 seemed to be the number for quite some time. Medicare is $165/month now and it's a safe bet any substantial increase in Social Security you might get, Medicare will get a chunk of it like what happened last year (as the Medicare fund is running low). Is there an age limitation? Like if you hit 80 and you can't get insurance from anyone?

Not sure if this is a dumb question....what is the difference or the reason for a peso plan and a dollar plan? Are they the same, but just in different monies? And I have heard you mention to have a peso plan AND a dollar plan...why?

Has anyone done a side by side comparison between US Medicare and Pacific Cross in PH? An apple to apple comparison may be hard but for roughly the same level of benefits, will it be cheaper to have Medicare in US or PC in PH?
@MrSteven5975
@MrSteven5975 2 жыл бұрын
It’s really irrelevant because people can’t use Medicare here. People coming here want a change of scenery. Pacific Cross has different plans and you can get more comprehensive coverage.

Didn't you say in a previous video that coverage doesn't kick in until after a waiting period? I might be wrong but thought you had to wait 1 year until you can use it.

If you are retired military, why not use Tri care?
@Traveler-PKK
@Traveler-PKK 2 жыл бұрын
Only certain hospitals and PPN take Tricare. What happens if you are not near these hospitals and if they transfer you to an approved Tricare hospital the time it takes to get to the approved hospital you might die. It sounds to me you may need additional coverage that pays direct to any hospial rather than just few select hospitals that take Tricare. Also, if you are out in the provence and it is an emergency you most likely will die before they get you to a hospital. In the provences they have only small clinics. Note the following: Can I use my TRICARE insurance in Philippines? If you live or travel in the Philippines, you must see a PPN provider or a certified provider for your medical care. You're encouraged to visit PPN providers if you're enrolled in: TRICARE Prime Overseas. TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas.
