the roads here look a little too aggressive and seem to require your constant attention, which is fine. but what worked well in The Long Drive was that there would be long stretches of clear roads with an occasional rock and can sort of lead you to hazardous crash the moment you stop paying attention to the road.

You know, I can't even tell if this is ironic or not. Although you do have a point, having an option to strap an rpg to your bumper and go around the zone decimating every anomaly you come across sounds like fun. Fun that wouldn't really fit in with the general vibe of the game, but fun nonetheless.

The devs said nothing about it, so most likely no. Maybe we'll see it added in a sequel or post launch updates; there does seem to be a set of interesting possibilities for coop gameplay - maybe one player would act like a rally co-driver to the player behind the wheel? All we can do right now is dream.

maybe they have a floor shift conversion installed? I bought a truck that had the column shifter still there but bypassed and was using a B&M floor shifter kit to shift the transmission...

From the new footage we've seen, the floor lever seems to be a handbrake, with the shifter being in its rightful position on the wheel.

Upgrading your car is the main aspect of the game, but apart from it there will be multiple story lines to follow - the main one being about the origin of the station wagon. Additionally, judging by some dev comments, an underlying storyline will focus on why and how the anomalies exist. Lastly, it's reasonable to assume that there might also be a chapter focused on ARDA: an organisation mentioned in one of the trailers.

it serves the purpose of uncovering what has happened in the zone, it's a mystery driving survival game and is also a roguelite/roguelike game, upgrades persist every expedition etc etc, it's 29.99 euro for pre purchase for base game
