Pacific Electric Officer’s Car

On January 28, 2023, Pacific Electric Car #1299 was powered up and made its first test run since its retirement in 1956. This car is known as the Officer's Car, where company officials and their guests used for travel on the Pacific Electric network. Thanks to the volunteers that work hard to restore 1299, its now operating under its own power since it was last operated in 1958. As always, sorry for the shakiness. Enjoy.

I've seen this trolley car before, and I found out it would always have to be towed by a Pacific Electric blimp car. For years and years I found out someone named Walter had always kept the car in good condition, by repainting it and so forth. When it used to be in Pomona at the LA County fairgrounds, and even at the same time when it came to the Railway Museum in Perris. Now Walter had passed away, I found out about. But I'm glad that the volunteers at the Southern California Railway Museum, managed to keep everything in good condition. And would bring it out for Pacific Electric weekend events, even though it had to be towed by a Pacific Electric blimp car. And now they nailed it by, making the electrical motor and so forth so the car can run all by itself and under its own power once again. Just like during its heydays. I'm glad that pacific electric 1299 is running all by itself under its own power, I've been waiting for that for a long time

Awesome that you know the history. The car is still under maintenance, but if repairs are complete, it may participate in the museum's Swap Meet and Pacific Electric Day on March 4. Check museum website for details/updates.

I'm not sure, but can Pacific Electric 1299 be coupled to the other old-fashioned Pacific Electric trolley car 1001 ? Is it possible that pacific electric 1001 and 1299 can be couple to each other ? Also can 1299 be coupled to the other Pacific Electric blimp cars ?

I believe PE 1299 and 1001 can be coupled. But PE 1299/1001 and the PE blimps cannot be coupled for operations. (Towing exempt)
