Most of our elite athletes went into rugby...These runners from Fiji are 17&18 year olds... We've won the last two editions of the Women's 4×100m, and all those ladies are in our 7s and 15s Rugby team...These girls from PNG have been running since the 2015 edition of the games..Monagi ran in 2015&2019 and the rest did so as well in 2019...This Fiji team came straight from high school...If we had retained our top athletes like Heleina Young,Makereta Naulu&Younis Bese it would've been different...

@@Trench2023 Helena Young's in our women's 7s team now along with Younis Bese who ran with Toea in 2015... None of our big sprinters ever stay in the sport, they all opt for rugby...If all our sprinters choose to stay in athletics, then that would be an entirely different story...
